War in Iran : Trump's latest misadventure

Note that almost no reports from Israel, which indicates a media blackout and military censorship, due to current sensitive operations in Lebanon.

But I can tell you this. Some gunfire in the Beirut area and lots and lots of gunfire in the Beeka valley.

Elsewhere

(The reason it has no military value, in case the reader does not understand, is that these are long range ballistic missiles with cluster munition warheads that are only useful to rain down on troops; which is of course 100% useless in a long range BM where air raid warning go off and therefore simply a pure Terror Weapon and nothing else). Theoretically, they can be used against air defence (submunitions makes holes in GBAD systems), but that is it.

Point in case, this is how you are supposed to use cluster munitions:

@Magnus thank you for your posts. I feel like I know what is going on much better than if left to my own devices. Much appreciated, sir.

I am only posting tiny bits of what I think is most important. I see countless of videos of explosions in Tehran etc, but relatively little news value to post all of that, I think. Everyone surely knows that military targets, as well as a lot of dual-use infrastructure, is bombed all over Iran by now.

Lots of words, lots of posts, lots of images and yet I haven’t come across why the fuck they are even doing it.

The best we have is Israel wanted to from Rubio, which is about as justified as doing it because God told you.

And then you have the incredibly unserious Farage and Badenoch saying we should join in, join in what?

For all his faults he’s got this about right as Starmer.

I don’t know, the reasons (regime change, settling of old scores, geopolitical control, and end to Iranian nuclear program and ballistic missile program, the fact that Iran is extremely weak now after previous fighting and wars and axis of resistance no longer had deterrence) seem fairly clear to me. The plan not so much.

Another reason is of course the Epstein Files. When it comes to Trump. They were becoming uncomfortable. This is a good distraction and something many in the US security system have wanted to do for decades. And of course, they follow Israel’s lead and so on. Many reasons. I think the Epstein files was an important trigger for Trump, since he is actually that shallow

But there is no single reason. There are many reasons, then trigger reasons. US have always wanted to do this, but wise heads have previously prevailed, because going to war with Iran was considered crazy. A it less crazy now, they thought, due to Iran’s weakness and the fact that Hezbollah , the Houthis, and PMU in Iraq; have previously been fought and severely degraded. Thus they were no longer able to deter this war.

Still madness and more, but they thought this was the good opportunity to remove the Islamic Republic from the Chess Board. Wounded animal, iran was previously feared, but the predators now smelled blood and pounced on the opportunity.

Incidentally, this is also the reason why European states must prioritise defence over all else, in the coming years. Because Russia is even more opportunistic than this. Much more so…

It’s going to be interesting to see if America wants to go in, boots on the ground. Trump wants regime change and he doesn’t care one jot about the Iranian people, but he does see the opportunity to make a lot of money.

It’s tragic, because I want the bright young Iranians to come to the fore and shape their own destiny. I have recently got to know one lad from Iran, late 20s, recently moved to America and is married to an American girl and they have a new baby. Think it was a student thing when they met, graduate students. They go to the same church as me and he was made up to talk to me, as I knew the situation there and didn’t look at him sideways, just because he is Iranian. He recently went back to see his family in Tehran, in light of all the protests and killings, but before America and Israel attacked. It’s a tiny anecdote, but it puts a personal face on it for me. The future of Iran should belong to such as these, not the Ayatollah, not the Shah, not some crooked Trump stooge, but qualified bright young people, full of hope and possibility, but despairing at what is going on.

But if you wanted me to comment on legality and morality, I have done that previously.

I thought you asked for trigger reasons and various causes of war.

If you want me to list Israel’s reasons, I could do that too. But it’s not one single reason. In minimal words, it is removing a strategic foe/s (removing the Axis of Resistance with root and stem) and improving the geopolitical security map and finish off old enemies.

I don’t know if people have heard the old soundbytes and dreams of the Marxist-lenistst, Russia and others ? Multipolar World ?

This is what a Multipolar world looks like in the absence of International Law. It is far from as beautiful as the Maoists, sitting under trees at camp fires and playing guitars and singing songs and sharing bottles of wines, thought it would be. It’s essentially, Great Powers do what they would like, as long as they are willing to pay the costs. Spheres of interests, etc.

Truly enormous ballistic missile strikes on the Ukrainian electric grid tonight. Wrong thread , I know, but strikes are massive. Kharkiv, Kyiev, Odessa, Kherson. Electricity is gone.

Also several direct hits on city blocks, and lots of people under rubble. Extremely harsh night.

Some BMs struck Israel a few hours ago.

Lol, no. GLONASS and realtime updates…

Just a picture of a sneaky Iraqi PMU launcher. These are extremely hard to detect before they fire since they are essentially civilian vans.

Trump lit a fuse. Not that he knows what a keg of gunpowder is when it comes to geopolitics

Netanyahu, Israel Katz and Yoav Gallant, knows of course extremely well, but they think you have to crush a hell of a lot of eggs to get the omelette they want. And have also followed a vindictice egg crushing policy, far more extreme than previous years, ever since Oct 7 (and they view Iran as indirectly responsible and have of course paranoia over posibility of future Iranian nuclear umbrella).

And yeah

This was literally 5 min ago

Lots of planes holding over Dubai, not landing due to nature of the threat.

Edit:Dubai claims it was an interceptor shooting down targets, which caused debris on the runway, again resulting in this extremely long hold up. Planes have still not landed, still going around in circles.

Need to divert those flights first. What the fuck is Iran thinking ? There’s a clear chance of Passenger Airlines being shot down as a result of their drones in Civilian Airports. Iran won’t be able to handle that pressure.

It’s one thing targetting American operations in UAE. Totally different thing when Civilian Airports are targetted.
