War in Iran : Trump's latest misadventure

Some reports of what one can expect. Seems they don’t agree with Trump, who seems to be on their leash. Trump can reign them in of course and decide to just pull out, if Iran allows that. In any case, US can scale down. Of course, problem with scaling down is that Iran could then get more freedom to strike US bases in the region with drones, so would have to be some sort of agreement.

Israel is a major problem, making it much harder to deescalate.

I think we are going to see limited ground incursions in Iran by US marines and an attempt to secure the coastline with the strategic aim to open the strait for traffic, personally. Mostly because I see no other way to do it.

Good news, I think

Hopefully everyone in Europe stays out. The Americans have over time unleashed an insane barrage of insults and threats, so the very idea of having to help the Americans with this extremely dangerous and unecessary war of theirs, which was and is bonkers irresponsible and crazy, is absurd.

So if you are wondering why this war might go on for a while without a ceasefire, this is what Iran is trying to ensure does not happen, (i.e. what much of the American elite and many others, thinks “will happen”).

Obviously there is an impasse here between the Iranian strategy we see take shape before our eyes and this kind of “hopefully we will get out of this easy” line of thinking. Yes, hopefully this war ends easy, but what if Iran wants to dispel the idea of “we can return in 10 years from now” line of thinking from everyone’s mind and are therefore willing to grind and sacrifice their economy, and even be willing to grind for years to dispel the idea of “we can return in 10 years”?

Hmm, not everyone in America thought of that risk (even though it was an obvious risk). Because America is run by imbeciles and a mad narcissistic clown of an demented emperor.

This is one of the very many reasons why you don’t start wars. They are not as easy to stop as some think.

This is the beauty of Iranian strategy, no way in hell we are going to have this hell again in 5-10 years. On the contrary, Israel is opting for 'let’s keep them bashing until ‘something’ happens.

Absolutely mindblowing incompetence…in December, the USN decommissioned their only dedicated minesweepers in the theater (in Bahrain!). That role is now to be performed by the very troubled littoral combat ships, which have not previously been used in combat for such a role.

That strains credulity to an extent that it’s scarcely believable. Genuinely seems like a bunch in charge that thinks tomorrow’s events are opt in/opt out with zero consequence whil enext week is a hazy blur at the edge of the mind leave alone next month, which is an inky blackness beyond the comprehension of their consciousness.

In any decision of this magnitude, there has to be an element of secrecy.

This could be just posturing by Trump the Dumb but we do know that he has the ability to continue plumb to new depths.

Even if the Island is seized, It is indefensible from Iranian Military action. There will be american casualties of war. Good luck trying to explain that to the American people.

Pakistan is so ready to go and open up another warfront for Iran.

You have to hand it to the Donald…what a way with words, full on bluster, threats etc, then he gets pissed off because everyone is a tad reluctant to get involved in his and bibi’s little war.
Who is his advisor? Hogsbreath, most likely, although he has surrounded himself with geniuses.
Great idea, land on Kharg island,a stones throw from Iran, that will work!

I do think they are hoping for the Iranian Army (or a huge chunk of it to defect)

From what it sounds like , the IRGC have stockpiled resources for themselves and are refusing to provide the Iranian Army valid support.

Why Iran decided on having 2 seperate branches of the armed forces beats me , it’s difficult enough to coordinate with one armed force(with navy , airforce, army) as it is. But to have two such units… That’s an avenue for disaster.

I do think that the igrc has to be taken out of the equation. But this strategy of the war criminals beats any rational thinking.

Everyone is waiting and watching. Well except Ukraine who have already made an offer. Which is understandable considering the shahed drone supply to Russia from Iran and the fact that Iran shot down a Ukrainian passenger jet.

The point is no one on both sides comes out of this as anything other than cynical evil motherfuckers.
