A fairly innocent video this. But I suppose it looks interesting.
US has now understood that this shitshow is going nowhere, so moves in the logical direction to force an end to the war on best terms possible (for the US and Israel). It is however likely that this will only be relatively minor land incursions, I think. I assume they will go for the easiest options (but that will probably not be enough), which is an ampibious landings on Kharg Island (easy objective, very low hanging fruit, even though US may lose some marines). However, what I don’t undestand is what more they envision to do, because surely to secure the Strait, they will have to raid and probably also occupy large parts of the Iranian coastline and I don’t see them doing that. I also don’t see them taking the Iranian cities of size, which means no regime change since the regime will likely survive intact (and ideologically strenghtened) if it maintains dominiance where Iranians actually you know, live. No way do I think the Iranians will surrender under the conditions US seek, if they know that even their capital is not eveb threatened by foreign armies. In short, no armies, no good way to even bluff to make someone surrender and certainly if its unconditionally. Those are my thoughts anyway.

I will invest very few calories on feeling responsible or feeling involved in this shit show. A) I hope the cost of this war deters the US from breaking International Law so fucking flagrantly like this ever again, and B) I also hope Iran loses strategically and I certainly hope the IRGC are degraded and not politically victorious.

To be honest, any self respecting Intel officer would have been able to locate that carrier quite quickly. It’s literally just the ordinary guy on the street who would have no idea where it is. It’s been reported for weeks it’s deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean which for all intents and purposes is just a large lake.

On reflection. This may very well be the point. I’ve made the point before about what Trumo was doing with gutting vital agencies responsible for disaster management etc and very little of it made sense except to think of it as a way to hobble a giant by internal strife, dissension, confusion as well as economically. Somewhere along the line they’ve cottoned onto being able to make shitloads of real money this time that will esconce them in the elite for generations (oh fucking joy).
This is just a continuation of that policy; bleed America dry, poke it full of holes and erode it structure so that it’s incapable of functioning as a nation united, flailing away at everyone except the real enemy until it’s exhausted, spent and a pariah. In my view this is a long, strategic game being played and Trump and co are simply the pieces in that game, not the ones behind the board.
