There are reports that Iran has floated the idea of a toll on Hormuz traffic to fund their rebuilding.
If the war ends with a toll gate in the Strait (extreme doubt) it would mean the end of Freedom of Navigation, be totally hilarious, but at the same time completely unacceptable.
But guys, this is lots of movement! One can hardly call this an “unconditional surrender”. In practice, it shows the weakness of the US position. To go from unconditional surrender and regime change to JPOAC + is funny in itself.
However, sadly, Iran is not going to accept this. At least not now.
Unfortunately, Iranians can read in foreign languages and do not buy the market pause and etc; perhaps to the surprise of Trump
More evidence that Iranians can read and have basic situation awareness:
“What we’re seeing is a situation where targetry never makes up for a lack of strategy. And by that I mean 15,000 targets have been hit. There have been significant military successes, but they are not matched by strategic outcomes. Now, some of the strategic outcomes early on, unconditional surrender, regime change, we’re going to dictate who the next supreme leader is — those were clearly nonsense. Those were delusional and you don’t hear those bandied about anymore.”
- Don’t call the Orange Idiot an idiot.
How does this compare to the original Obama deal that Trump scrapped, then tried to put back in place years later with his name on it?
I can write, but I suspect it takes you less time to read this than it does for me to write ![]()
I heard they want to levvy $1/barrel passing through Hormuz.
Number 1 is very achievable. Probably that’s why they added #2, and #3 to torpedo the negotiation.
I don’t think it’s to torpedo anything. I think these are their demands. Delusional since they are not about to invade to enforce said demands, but Trump admin sees these as reasonable and something they can take as a win to end the war.
So many of these Israeli strikes end up like this.
