I think they call drone and missile strikes airstrikes by mistake.

This guy should have been behind bars or in a mental asylum, way before he started this shitshow. And now that the pressure is getting to him, he is starting to crack up and he’s getting worse and worse.

Someone with half a brain must have reminded him that the nuclear file is kind of more important than “annihilating the Iranian navy”, similar nonsense or killing khamenei etc. Particularly after killing Khamenei, I might add.

The stock market is behaving like a golden retriever chasing a stick. Trump again made positive noises about ending the war (or just walking away), and the market decided to have a great day - despite no evidence whatsoever that Iran is willing to come to any sort of agreement. Even Trump is now admitting that a ‘ceasefire’ will leave Iran in control of the Straits.

The forward price curve for oil is pretty fascinating, and not at all a good sign. Prices for 60 days out are astronomical, but decline significantly further out. The oil market is essentially betting on a recession later this year.

Our government decided the following to tackle the fuel crisis:

  1. Schools to have online classes three days a week
  2. Private offices are encouraged to have work from home
  3. No fuel price increase in April
  4. Strick measures to tackle fuel hoarding, and blackmarketing

I would like to ask my TAN friends about the impacts they are feeling.

Arseholes like farage, johnson and blair who are so far up Trumps / usa’s arse have gone quiet as they were/ would be ahem trumpeting this war and how we should be involved in this illegal war…i mean they have to line their pockets from the money thats offered for interviews , being bankrolled by them etc.

And starmer has not shouterd angirly…instead he has remained calm, and his measured responses actually are showing him having the traits that British statesmen are famous for…diplomacy , and calm, cold logic…and hes using this on the whims of an idiot , who bullies his way and people bend over giving it…see above, blair , farage johnson etc…charlatans…

The fact that starmer is cold logic , well versed im sure more so than cuntface…in international law etc …anyway, dont like starmer, think hes a twat…but thank fuck he is power and im not as the uks arsenal would have launched a long time ago …

But stamer, has owned trump, by using the law, and not bending to pressure from a bully president of a bully nation…we know what it is, we were one for years…so for this ,im actually glad at this precise moment in time, im glad he is prime minister… i mean could you imagine where we would be if it was one of farage, johnson or blair?

And its in this that trumps insult of keir not being like Churchill…he couldnt be more wrong, starmer is proving every bit worthy of being stateman like .

In Norway it has created a government crisis, where the Centre party broke with the Labour Government it supports, supporting emergency legislation from the opposition (Conservative Party, Progress Party and Christian Democrats, as well as the Liberal Party). The government lost and must now enact, from 1st of April, emergency temporary cut to VAT on road use (incorporated into diesel and petrol prices) as well as some cut to VAT on diesel and petrol. This has created a government crisis since the Greens are demanding that the Prime Minister issues a Vote of Confidence, but he refuses to do so and everyone but the Greens are against that.

This is after Diesel prices per litre passed 30 NOK some places. Diesel is now cut with 2,85 kroner per liter and petrol 4,41 kroner per liter from tomorrow.

Most economists are against this emergency solution, since there is a fear that it could increase interest rate, or at least keep it high (it has been high due to problems with the Kroner currency late). But most parties have listened to the public outrage, so this is kind of a populist reaction. But it’s what the people want and the government should have been proactive and avoided this predictable loss.

Now, I realise that in the global context, this is not so grave as what other countries struggle with. I know that of course, which is why I never tend to write these things (because I have self awareness) without anyone actually asking. But yes, many Norwegians too are struggling a hell of a lot economically (some much more so than others). I know that not many states can do like mine did though, and just cut VAT in a crisis, which is why I feel a bit embarrased writing this when I know how much more suffering there is in very poor countries. At the same time, I want to be informative since @Iftikhar kindly asked

Other than more expensive gasoline, not much. It isn’t really a fuel crisis in North America, though some economic sectors are being squeezed hard. Hence Trump’s comments earlier today about Europe needing to go fight or buy oil/gas from America

This post regarding downed transport plane, I have now moved to the Russo-Ukrainian War thread, given that I posted it here by the mistake.

In Greece, gas prices have increased by more than 20 cents to more than €2 per litre. More than 60% of that is taxes, which the government refuses to lower. Instead, it has put a cap on the profit margin for gas stations.

Of course, this surge has caused food prices that have been steadily rising to explode, further deteriorating the purchasing power which was already the lowest in the EU. So, in a sense it’s business as usual.

I can’t get a price on heating oil at the moment. I have to wait until they’re ready to deliver. They give me a call and tell me the price then.

Over a barrel. I’m expecting £800 for 500L.
