16-1 to be top goalscorer in the league next season. He may not feature in the starting XI immediately but that’s still worth a few quid at those odds.

Is that better or worse odds than for Mané?

He’s 100% going to be a starter, sorry Jota & I think Firmino was used more from the bench last season anyway so I think he knows his squad in the place is now that of a squad player.

‘….we know you’ll score a few’?

It is that’s why it’s the great leveller in a way, no other transport carries the richest and the poorest in society in the same carriages.

Sorry I’m eulogising about the underground.

When you are spending well over £100M on the transfer fee, I suppose you can chuck in a couple of free kits too!

Mmmh…score is too boring. How bout bang.

Yes, there will be pressure. Not just because of the fee but also endless comparisons with Haaland and how he does. JK is right to downplay expectations and we might need to be patient.

Whether Nunez is going to be successful or not time will tell but this is exactly the type of player we need in the squad. Ancelotti said after the CL final that we were predictable and got some stick for that but there was a large amount of truth in what he said. For most teams sitting deep, denying us space in behind and playing on the counter is the default plan against us. Real did that very well. Likewise Spurs. Nunez is the first out and out striker, as opposed to wide forward or ‘false 9’ that we’ve spent big money on under JK. He does make us less predictable, gives us an alternative point of attack, and hopefully an added clinical edge to our finishing. As with everyone else who comes to the club these days I’m just looking forward to seeing what JK and the coaching team can do with him.

100m Euros. The difference is significant.

For what it’s worth I just asked my gay colleague and he says Alisson and Ozan Kabak are the two most attractive recent players.

Was laid off with injury multiple times last season and his lack of game time was mostly because of that. I still think there will be a reasonably even amount of minutes played between Bobby, Jota, Diaz and Nunez if they all stay injury free, with Salah being a bit ahead of all the others - run him into the ground I say! Every day he gets closer to Crouch’s barren run.

I think I have done a good job. :grinning::grinning:

Genuinely yours?

@gasband your view?

Indeed it is!

I was having a bit of a joke - too subtle in writing on a forum with hindsight - at all the fuss over the fee, and how the press had been understating Haaland’s cost, and overstating Darwin’s, not just in the number reported, but also the currency being reported too.

Of course not mine. :grinning:
