Our ex-Croatian national team coach (Miroslav Ciro Blazevic, bronze medallist at WC98), during technical exercises with the ball, used to shout to his players to “get extremely intimate with the ball!”.

Poor ball 
… and so a footballer should. Take a ball everywhere they go and even sleep with one. The greater the familiarity with balls the better.
