It’s a good signing to be fair, and one we thoroughly needed after losing Mo this summer. I won’t make any comparisons with Mo or other big forwards we’ve had over the years. He needs to make a name for himself at this club now, with his own specific qualities.
Looking forward to see him play for us, but I won’t put too much expectations on him. He has had zero pre-season with us, and he’ll surely need a bit of time to find his feet.
But this is an ambitious signing. The fee is absolutely crazy, as is no doubt the wage, but hey, that’s top-level football nowadays. I for one will completely ignore his price-tag. He’s just a 23-years old coming from a very strong club, playing in an inferior league, but having played in the CL and won it twice in a row.

He’s gone for No 29, presumably for personal reasons. I’d far rather see a new No 11. It feels more like a statement of intent.

Anyway , my kid who’s just started following football was asking me a question on how Liverpool signed a LW when they needed a RW.
Explained it a fair bit saying that not every RW needs to be a Salah and there’s no guarantee that Barcola will be playing on the right anyway.
