Think he will have somewhat the same impact as what Konate has when he does charge forward with the ball. No one is going to want to tackle him.
Look at Fred Konate incident a couple of seasons or so back and this season there will be 2 of those big men to contend with.
Gomez , Gravenberch and VVD aren’t short by any stretch of the imagination but Konate and this boy are different in their build. Height is one thing , Konate and Leoni are proper units.
…and Virgil is not?
I was able to stand next to Virgil when he was in the states back in 2018. I am 6’2” 215 pounds, and I was astounded at the size of VVD. Me being taken aback by the size of someone does not happen often.

Just keeping it in perspective that height really isn’t everything. Vvd is a specimen alright.
And Leoni is still 18.
Boys grow up till age of 21.
VVD is every bit of 6’5”, and I’d guess at around 230. His torso is well put together, but what really caught my attention was his lower half. His legs looked like telephone poles.

Virgil is 200 lbs or 92 kg.
I do agree he’s a big unit. But there’s Virgil , there’s Matip and Gomez and there’s Konate and the new las.

Quansah replacement for this season… Virgil’s in 2,3,4 or however many years. Still likely need an Ibu replacement for next year.

I think our transfer targets towards the most part were named and achieved for the most part.
I don’t know who exactly , maybe ROTW who said that there were links of Leoni moving to Liverpool , much before the more conventional sources spoke those.
Kerkez, Frimpong were identified from last season too as priority targets.
Wirtz was handled pretty quickly too once. No other club came into the reckoning once we got the bid in.
Our interest in Hugo was touted last summer too.
There’s no other transfer window where we got the first choice targets.
