Welcome to Liverpool Ibrahima Konate

Hope he doesn’t go to the Olympics.

Emm… Not sure about that line.

What about this:

He’s our centre half
He’s our number five
Does the defending
Lets the others thrive
He’ll pass the ball
And then we’ll score

How about we wait and see if he’s worth of a song, and if he is, we then don’t rip off the virgil song…

You guys have to be a bit more creative in finding a tune, he deserves his own song.

Sounds like a good idea :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

The VVD song is just too good to debase! I apologise unreservedly for such tomfoolery.

No one knows if he’s gonna dive, thrive, skive, or beehive yet

It really is. Not just the song choice, but the lyrics are so beautifully understated, that it basically just says he’s virgil and he plays football and yet still carries the message that he’s fucking boss. It’s like the scene from Lion King where the Hyenas all shudder at the name Mufasa…all you need to do is say the words Virgil Van Dyke and the point has been made.

Thats a great point Limie - ‘he’s Virgil van Dijk’ is enough to get me smiling

And the Lion King analogy is well made as one of my four year olds currently loves it so I’ve seen it far too many times…
