Welcome to Liverpool, Jeremie Frimpong!

I was going to be snarky and say yes, but I’m a year off apparently. He retired after the Euros. Does Memphis Depay qualify for this? Oh and Zirkzee.

Looks like it’s a 5-year deal, he slipped it while talking.

He’s adorable

Some people were doing the math earlier and stating that with the loss of Trent’s salary and the transfer fee that Madrid paid for Trent, Frimpong’s transfer fee basically gets paid. Not sure about that

Where’s @Dutch when you need him ?

That’s his salary paid for the next two years.

Nah, that’s €10m + wage savings = £10m in total

This is £29.5m

Trent would have gotten a 300k wage and a hefty signing bonus as well. Frimpong’s wages would be half of that.

Quite a chunk of his transfer fee might have been taken care of too.

It’s likely that we would have paid Trent a signing on fee if he had stayed, so it could be a very cheap swap.

It’s easy to get bogged with transfer fees, it’s the total cost of ownership that counts.

A couple of bros have confirmed on this train that it’s not a big signing so yeah.

I’m based in Glasgow and all my Celtic-supporting pals say they absolutely adored him.

Btw, how are we able to sign him now? Transfer window isn’t open yet.

Clubs can always sign players. The effective date will be at the opening of the transfer window.

Talking about Celtic , they seem to have a 20% sell on clause. Quite a windfall for them.

Because we’re Champions of England and we do what we want.

Best admin team in the world.

Dutch former Celtic player who signs for us? That rings a bell…

If teams can always sign players, why don’t they? Every year, clubs fail to get their ducks in a row on this stuff
