Ps. That is great white territory, too.
Oh no, so sorry to hear this.
The US insurance companies are evil.
I hope you find a solution which helps your family.
35 years ago. I was of the age that i wanted to go, work and live āthe american dreamā USA. It looked so cool.
I am glad now with health issues, I stayed here. I am forever grateful to our NHS and employment laws.
Swam for 2hrs with a life jacket before taking it off and swimming for another 2hrs.

Speechless
My US cousins younger than me say they are fed up there too. I know a few of them are looking for jobs outside the US.
My friendās daughter is staying with me in UK. She quit her NYC job to do a Masters in the UK. She was on good money but the hours were too long. Her bosses promised her to send her to the london office, she worked hard, they bailed out lastminute.com. They were ruthless in getting rid of people. She was paying so much rent. Her work life balance was awful, her boss was awful, she was so depressed.
She has been here a month and wants to live and work here/Europe. She loves it even when it is a cold, wet and windy night in Ealing. She is into our biscuits at the moment, chocolate macaroons by crimbles and custard creams!
Itās an amazing story. What a guy, just thirteen years old. Itās like something out of a Hollywood drama. How he kept his nerve and kept going, Iāll never know. Stories like this are a true beacon of light in an often dark and gloomy world. A tribute to human bravery and fortitude against the odds.
Yeah, Aussie ![]()
Pfft, a Welsh lad would have walked it singing Men of Harlech the whole way.
Is that his favourite sheepās theme song?
Only during times of battle.
We draw strength from the voices of fake film stories
And shame on everyone that didnāt pick up on the fact we walk on water. Dear me.
Arghh theyāve got desecrated coconut in them. Yes itās spelt correctly.
Still eat them though.
Just a serious word on the little hero story above. Those inflatable kayaks, paddle boards and dinghies are bloody lethal.
Theyāre cheap relative to more serious kit, but catch the wind like crazy. Iāve been out on a proper solid paddle board and got caught in 15mph off shore wind and it took us an hour to paddle 500m or so. An inflatable, Iād have stood no chance.
They come with warnings, but holy crap it seriously isnāt enough. If you own one, stick to lakes or donāt go out in any hint of an offshore breeze.
She loves them. ![]()
She is abit homesick today. It is her birthday and I got her and M&S Victoria sponge. She hasnāt seen that store yet. I have introduced her to Sainsbury, Morrisons and Lidl. She says everything here is better than Walmart! ![]()
She likes the size of the supermarkets here, they are not like massive warehouses which overwhelm you.
I better get the Yorkshire teabags out and milk @Basankayis ![]()
When her mum came in January with her. She took 2 bags of 600x Yorkshire teabags
Mmmm , Garum ! Slurp, slurp !

I do stand up paddle board surfing and never go out in the wind, 20 paddles to move 5 mā if yer lucky.
What board(s) ya got if you donāt mind me asking.
Agreed, on the wind thing but the inflatables are even worse.
I am only an intermediate and have a 10ā 6" wave passion freedom paddleboard, really wanted a 9ā6" but it has been a great board.
This year has been shocking for good surf conditions here in NZ, way too windy and only been out on it once, hoping to go away next week and get some time on it.
I did 1st try an inflatable but it was like turning a tanker.
Iām not familiar with those. Iāve got an 8ā6" loco Aztec. Old and battered but those stubby boards work well in my local mush.
Follow up storyā¦
Fucking hell. Didnāt realise the mum almost lost the other two kids, rescuers got there just in time by the sounds. Almost certain theyād had drowned without the life-jackets.
I surf out near Wellington Airport, Lyall Bay here in NZ, on a good day nice easy waves with 11 to 13 seconds between swells, but gets way too busy, my happy place being on the water or the beach
