Oops. Was 20ft up on a ladder and a piece of metal fell into my eye. Can see a little brown circle on my iris. Was in the ER yesterday but fortunately no long-term damage. Just immediate discomfort
Had similar many years ago.
Tiny metal shard embedded which left a rust ring when it was removed. No long lasting damage but very uncomfortable at the time
Wishing you a swift recovery
I just want some sleep at this point. may have to medicateā¦
@Semmy The Madawasga cabin has been sold. $600k CAD and took less than a week. I think they could have got a lot more for it, but they were really second guessing the decision to sell it and I think they priced it that low just so it would sell quickly and they wouldnt have chance to change their mind.
prices are crazy these days, and this is a downswing
Ouch, hope itās not painful for too long Matey.
Could have gone on any number of threadsā¦
Shit, did this happen to you?!
Horrible!
Why isnāt any of the International community doing to stop this?
This goes against the International Geneva Convention.
Cos Maria they is scared that Vlad will impale everyone with nu-clear weapons.
Personally I thought Russia crossed a line back in February and we should have provided air support for UKR regardless of the (real) risks of escalation.
Trying to get my desi missus out of the door.
My wife had a ruptured brain aneurysm with bleeding to the brain on Sunday. Sheās been in artificial coma after the emergency operation, the next days/weeks continue to be critical. Iām going fucking mental.
This sounds scary AF. Hope the missus gets well soon!
Fuck, best of luck to you all.
Iām trying to find a strategy to deal/cope with the constant uncertainty, but Iām not sure there is one. Only allowed to see her an hour a day, the rest is waiting and hoping thereās no call from the hospital. This came totally out of the blue.
Very sorry to hear that. Good luck
Really sorry to hear that @anon27364116, sounds fucking aweful. I hope she makes a full recovery
Iām so sorry to read this, Iāll keep my fingers crossed for you and I hope everything will be fine.
Thanks. Last one on the topic, apologies, seriously, but for some reason writing about this to more or less strangers feels good right now. And maybe it can help someone else in the future, because time is critical with this.
Iāve had experiences with deaths, cancer, heart attacks, strokes and more. Never with this (ruptured brain aneurysm). She just had a headache. Then I thought she was acting a bit strange, but it was somewhat undefinable. Kept asking her if I should call a doctor, but she just brushed it off. Just tired and a bad headache. I was still worried. This continued for quite a bit, I kept looking after her, but she seemed to just be sleepy, dozing away. Then I talked to her again and still thought she was strange. Asked her questions. She could answer them and said she wouldnāt get in the car if I tried to take her to the hospital. Finally I tried talking to her again and she didnāt seem to remember a story she had told me a trillion times. I kept her pressuring her, please just tell me the story or Iāll have to call an ambulance right now. She tried to evade the question. So I called.
At first the ambulance didnāt want to take her, because there didnāt seem to be anything seriously wrong with her and she talked to them. But I kept insisting and they took her. I get a call like an hour later from the doctor at our nearest hospital, where they had taken her. He seemed slightly pissed off and wanted to know why I had insited on getting her to the emergency. I tried explaining, seriously thereās something neurologically wrong with her. Get another call a bit later, they had done a brain scan and could see the bleeding/aneurysma. She was immediatley taken to the neurological surgeons at the University Hospital here in Cologne (thank fuck, they have an excellent reputation). Emergency operation, coiling didnāt work so they had to do the neurosurgical clipping thing right through the skull. 2-3 weeks coma, high risk of death in that time span, high risk of severe brain damage because of potential of blood vessels cramping.
Seriously, donāt ever take a bad headache too lightly. Iām still shocked at how badly even ambulances and the first doctor reacted.
