When the shit hits the fan, and they've got the wrong man, that's Amorim! (Part 3)

In all honesty - being out of Europe is probably better for their rebuild than having the pressure of CL games in the first half of the season. I know that the CL is worth at least like 80M to a club like United, and that will help them with recruitment, but their squad is an absolute shambles, and adding at least 8 must-win European games is going to cause them more problems. Not only that, but they’re likely to get humiliated in most of those matches, too, which will hurt morale and make Amorim somehow look even more hapless than he already does.

That first full season with Klopp allowed us to keep the squad small, focus on getting rid of surplus players and recruiting the core of the team we would become, as well as instilling Klopp’s philosophies in the team. If we’d had the distractions of the CL I think we would have struggled a lot more than we did.

All of this is academic anyway, they aren’t winning shit.

18 points out of 38 points because they’ve taken 6 wins out of the bottom 3 clubs ?

After spending billions in the transfer market. Would have been relegation fodder if the bottom clubs had put up some fight.

They don’t want to do open heart surgery. As simple as that. They need to gut their team properly, and if it means getting rid of most of their overpaid dross and finish 12th to 15th in the league for a couple of seasons , so be it.

I was just checking the odds for this week’s fixtures, and one thing stood out to me:

I don’t recall ever seeing Bournemouth odds-on favourites to beat Man U before.

How the mighty have fallen.

I think Goldbridge was predicting that United would lose against Wolves. And that United fans should all be okay with the result seeing as that europa is the only thing that’s important for them.

Fuck Goldbridge.

The point is there wasn’t ever a case where even United fan channels predicted that they would lose to a side 15th or so at home.

And it would be so United for them to go to the finals only to find that the one good match of Ange’s second season would be the final.

Might be well to see how Spurs are doing injury wise. If they can field their first strength team , United are screwed.

It’s a real pity that Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich have been so poor this season, as it would have been great to see United embroiled in a real relegation scrap.

United have got 16 of their 38 points this season against the bottom three. That makes 2.67 ppg against that trio, with only a pathetic 0.81 ppg against everyone else. In any other year, they’d be right in the relegation battle.

Bilbao should take care of them in the semis. Unlike Lyon, they are sporting a defence, the best one in La Liga in fact.

Leicester getting into this position has a lot to do with the PL allowing Everton to survive. (And their dire performances too as well , probably in equal measure).

Had the PL not been influenced by the Everton sob story the first time around, they would have been relegated and Leicester probably survived.

Even accounting for the fact that Brendan got them into a relegation battle in the first place with a team that had no business being there.

Somewhat interesting point there.

He won them the FA Cup which gave him some space, who knows how winning the league for us would have factored in to FSG thinking.

Though they can be ruthless.

Trying to comfort each other by saying it’s alright losing in one competition as it helps you in the other one.

Yeah, do go down that route…

Here’s another banger

We beat Spurs on Dec 22, our 17th game of the season, If we hadnt played another game all season we’d still have the same number of goals scored as where Utd are now and be 1 point ahead of them

And now I’m sporting an erection. Thank you.

Isn’t that a Portuguese second division side?

I for one think the United brass should back Amorim to the tune of 300M this summer. It’s worth risking the points deduction because he’s guaranteed to take them back to the top. Amorim in!!

Haven’t fact checked this, but hilarious if true

Possibly, but having a sole ambition of finishing above United is a bit sad.

If I was only interested in seeing a rival team fail, then I’d probably be supporting Everton.
