Agreed on Hodgson. He’s the kind of coach that approaches a game like this thinking “Well, it’s Man United at home, we’ve no chance, might as well just try to limit the damage”. It’ll be the exact same this weekend.
Modern coaches don’t give a shit and will have a go at an obviously weak united team. Even if you get battered, you can learn something from the tactics/setup and what went wrong, etc.
They beat Stoke 10-1, threw away a 5-0 lead at Sunderland to draw 5-5, conceded 4 goals in the opening 37 minutes of a 4-2 loss to Arsenal and last night they were beaten 8-1 by Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Trophy even though Bolton pretty much rotated out all of their starters.
Bullshit article. The writer just lumps LFC and Jürgen’s name in there without any corroboration or and direct quotes. All Amrabat said was “lots of clubs were interested”. Nothing at all about LFC or Klopp. The article links to another shitty Metro article where it uses a Daily Fail article (also without any direct attribution) about us being close to signing Amrabat.
The story being pushed is Amrabat put talks on hold and that caused us to turn our attention to Gravenberch who we then finalized the next day. None of that story makes any sense. Not the either/or perspective on two completely different players (type, stage of career, ceiling), or on the idea that we’d have been able to get him out of Bayern with less than a day’s work.
