Great. Joe misses out on the game in which he would have had a brace.
Letâs stop the mocking till we actually beat them.
A third consecutive home league defeat for the first time since 1979
5 league losses in the previous 6
How much further into the abyss can they sink?
How much longer before Amorim âgetting sacked in the morningâ, mourning??
A comfortable 3 points without injuries, suspensions or having to work too hard is what I want. 2-0 would be grand.
I know we kid around about it here, but theyâre literally turning into Everton.
FFS Darwin!
Ibeeeeeee
By the end of January, they could realistically be in a relegation dogfight. Beside the shit football they serve up on a tired and worn out platter every game, it would serve them right, for the terrible treatment they subjected Joshua Zirkee to last night. If Amorim was any kind of decent man manager, he would have delayed the substitution until half time at least. If he fucked up selecting him, he should carry some of the burden. Likelihood now though, that lad is finished at Old Toilet.
Pity AS couldnât turn the kid into a superstar. Could you imagine the effort he would put in every time he plays against them⊠What a shithouse club they actually are
And this scares me for the coming game against them as they might look to injure some of our players by playing dirty.
Martinez is carrying a career-ender in him, Funes Mori-style. Thereâs not been a Man United game I saw this season that he hadnât made a dangerous tackle. The only saving grace for the opponent was that heâs not that competent a tackler, so he often misses the target. Iâm not looking forward to facing Man United, even though the circumstances could hardly be better for Liverpool.
I genuinely felt bad for Zirksee. He was no worse than several others on the pitch. It was poorly handled by Amorim. He should have taken him off at halftime.
Sounds like a game for NĂșñez if I ever saw one, soak up the challenges, roll around and get their players sent offâŠ
Amorimâs midfield is always likely to get over run through the middle. The problem was keeping guys like Eriksen and Casemiro in a 2 man midfield. Zirkzee might have played poorly (as did the others there) but keeping two geriatric midfielders against a usual premier league team having 3 midfielders in the central area is always a recipe for disaster.
I take offence at being bracketed with them.
Theyâre going to need 7-8 new starters over the next few years for Amorimâs system to work. But why would you go there, especially if you are a young player? Hojlund gets no service, Mainoo is going to burn out, and the treatment of Zirksee is shocking. In most other seasons, they would be legitimate relegation candidates. 16th or 17th seems like a real possibility.
Wrong owners, wrong operators, wrong structure, wrong manager, wrong players.
So ?
I think a slight tweak to the system would make them much better. Mostly adding an extra person in the midfield. A 3-5-2 if you will with zirkzee as a second striker and not a 10.
Itâs still going to be tough for them but atleast theyâll have an extra in the midfield to cover for the lack of pace of Eriksen and Casemiro.
