When the shit hits the fan, and they've got the wrong man, that's Amorim!

HAHAHAHAHA

I fecking hate this lot with a passion. They ruined me childhood.

I think he’s only at the starting gate unfortunately. We wasted last summer resting on the ‘we almost won everything’ (a view supported by many on here too, incidentally) rather than ruthlessly cut a heap of players who weren’t contributing. All the best dynastic sides had managers who completely lacked Ruth about this but, for whatever reason(s), we just haven’t turned over the squad sufficiently since winning the league.

Two midfielders and a central defender will go a long way.

As I look up front, we have Diaz, Nunez and Gakpo as newer players, and Jota still with years to go. That part of the team has been refreshed, and if/when Mo goes we should get a replacement there. But the evolution in the front line is clear.

At the back we signed Konate, but he has had some injuries. Matip and VVD are getting older. I would replace Matip with someone who can challenge for a first team spot. At some point Robbo will need to be replaced too, but we aren’t quite there yet.

Midfield is the big area that needs rebuilding, as we all know. Bajcetic has been a revelation and he will save us a lot of money. We need to buy two midfielders, hopefully to go straight into the side, and they the remainder of the old guard can supplement them.

Three players this summer, for me. Hopefully FSG are up for it, and/or minor investment is sorted to help the team rebuild.

The dream for me would be something like Bellingham, Kone and Gvardiol.

7 bona fide first team players in 3 seasons for a side that was already operating at the top is pretty considerable transfer work. Especially when supplemented by young players who were already at the club and given the chance to step in (Jones and Elliott as part of the plan, bajcetic a bit more serendipitous). As a comparison, it is more that Real have done, which ignoring fuckery with loan players coming back they dont really want and barely use, includes just Tchouaméni, Rudiger, Alaba, and Camavinga as new players they signed since winning their league the same year we won ours.

Maybe Odrizola is comparable to Tsimi so you can make an argument for throwing him in there, but regardless of what argument on the edges it’s seems pretty clear the number of players we’ve bought is not insignificant. The fact it seems insufficient now I dont think is a reflection of the problem being that we didnt buy enough, but what has happened that means we seemingly needed even more?

Shreeves - “Do you think you’re still in the hunt for the title”

Ratboy - “I think we’re in the hunt to win the next game against Betis, and then Southampton”

Betis will turn you over forget them and hopefully Soton can do the same.

With that press on that defence we’ve probably handed a game plan to a few teams, though if truth be told perhaps Klopp watched Barca against them and didn’t forget the defending part.

If they are looking to players like Bruno Fernandez and Anthony to provide leadership, they are really fucked. Bruno in particular was absolutely pathetic today.
