When the shit hits the fan, and they've got the wrong man, that's Scamorim! (Part 3)

Which really makes sense. He isn’t CL level, and he has one, maybe two contracts left in his career. He will make more at ManU in 2 seasons than his entire career to date. If they are lucky, he will put in a shift for them and give honest work for the wages.

He can always go and get a sizable income at a Saudi club.

He’ll be player manager?

Probably a better chance of that after his time at ManU.

Yeah. His profile will increase

Brailsford is reportedly being removed from day to day operations at Utd. His appointment was an enormous red flag in the first place given there was not any room for him in the modern structure Utd had finally set up. They resolved that by firing Ashworth, but now with Brailsford walking away from Utd duties they are back to having no single person in charge of football matters at the club.

And so it looks like they are going to try to move forward with the CEO and Technical Director split the responsibilities (the way they did so well while waiting for Ashworth to get off gardening leave  ) while also retaining their primary responsibilities. Which in reality probably means top down decision making from Sir Jim

Not exactly. Jason Wilcox has been promoted to director of football.
From The Athletic:

Sir Dave Brailsford takes step back at Man Utd

Sir Dave Brailsford is widely known as Mr Marginal Gains. In the days when he ran Team Sky, before trouble enveloped them, the cycling outfit were the Tour de France’s tour de force.

The 61-year-old is a key figure at INEOS, Manchester United’s minority shareholder, so it stood to reason that when INEOS took a stake in United in 2023, Brailsford would bring his competitive mind to Old Trafford. He did — but yesterday it emerged that he’s stepping back again.

In INEOS’ 18 months, United haven’t made marginal gains. They haven’t made large gains either. Brailsford has been in the thick of everything that’s gone on — a period of on-field regression and deep financial cuts — and his return to the role of INEOS’ director of sport can be taken as an admission that his input hasn’t worked. At all.

In another shuffle, Jason Wilcox is being promoted by United from technical director to director of football. It’s a fresh rearrangement of the deckchairs, but Wilcox has a part to play. Not so Brailsford, who won’t be roundly missed.

Aye, that is the expected move on paper given its largely what he’s actually spent his time concentrating on since he arrived. What that looks like in practice, given how poorly they were run in that time, and that he was supposed to be doing a different job, remains to be seen

I wonder if Sir Rat will add Rio to his staff…

I saw Rio complaining that having to be a pundit during a period when Utd were struggling so badly was tough on him because it made him a target of mockery.

Rio, what made you a target of mockery was being a pundit during a period when you subjected us to brainless moronic punditry.

Cheating on his now dead wife, reportedly with many different women, was enough for me to dislike him entirely.

Saying that, not quite Giggs level of having a secret affair with his bros wife for years.

But we’re going to have to buy new seats for the dug out and then claim that internal research shows the novel ergonomics of the new seats improves recovery by 0.01% hence the improvement.

This convo makes the frustration of the lack of signings by Liverpool all worthwhile.

United needs to go down to the Leeds level.

Nah.

Nothing does.

Forgot the word comparitively.
