I really like VvD’s jacket from the Retro Finds 90s YT video.
Anyways, I picked up the “Liverpool FC Adidas Z.N.E. Anthem Jacket”. It’s really nice without sponsorship branding plaster all over the jacket.
Yeah, they decide/start making them a year or more in advance.
Am I the only one who doesn’t like this stuff?
Seems so
I don’t really chase after the kits anymore like I used to when I was younger. I do like the merchandise though, I would throw money at something like this…
So yesterday LFC when unveiled their 3rd kit, I took a look (I didn’t need anything as the Kids bought me the new Black drill top and I ordered a fake Black Keepers top from Japan for £12 - great quality) but they had a Green and Black drill top so I ordered it on a whim.
Got to check out and it said - express delivery £6.99
UPS normal delivery £4.99
or standard £3.49
I thought, well I don’t actually know when its released and as I’m not here from Thursday (on holiday for a few days) it don’t matter when it turns up
So I went for the £3.49
It was delivered at 1.30pm today!
Would express at £6.99 got it here much quicker?
But you know that if I really wanted that top for holiday - it would come Friday. But as I didn’t give a toss when it come it arrived today.
I can report that its a tad, not much, but tad bigger than the same sized Black drill top.
The home kit is bleh.
The away kit is middling.
The third kit looks good though
That’s pretty much my position.
The first designs of a new kit supplier often are middling.
Too many teams supplied by Adidas and all the kits look similar to a large degree.
It’s shameful. Clubs should insist on more money being spent by Adidas to create a specific design that represents the clubs. Not just rely on pre designed templates rotated amongst their many clubs.
It’s not only Adidas. We had the same problem with Nike as well.
Have tbh, i think the gear looks naff, a lot of it just looks like some 90’s rave party tat…and other than the hoodie modelled by Virg, it all looks quite shite.
And actual coats look shite, mate sent me one of plymouths cambrian coat all black with club logo and actually looked decent, shame adidas thinks were all late teens to mid 20’s and aspiring to be rappers .
I like the third kit and also the goalie tops, the rest of the stuff I can leave. I am extremely tempted by the third kit.
Not a massive fan of Adidas
mind in general however this German shirt I own is amazing.
It’s really not that difficult to make a good looking Liverpool home kit. Less is more. And the basic Liverpool elements.
Instead of fiddling around trying to look different for the sake of it.
Ordered yesterday at about 3PM, choose free delivery option, arrived today at 10am. UPS in my experience have always been far quicker and more reliable than the majority of the other shite logistics companies in this country.
Ordered the kit and the coat I linked above. Both are works of art.
I like the kits that some of the Italian clubs have. Why can’t Adidas poach some of the designers from Macron ?
Probably too much blue or it looks like a Man Utd kit ![]()
Our white away kit looks like one of Man Utd’s recent away kits. I guess that’s the problem with football kits in general. Eventually, they’re all going to be rehashes of kits already been, just swap out the sponsors and logos, and you’re good to go.
As we all know, taste is subjective, but luckily you don’t have to decide. It’s the same old discussions every year anyway, with people who never like anything. ![]()
What’s important to me is that our players look good and feel comfortable in them. Also…that there’s at least something for everyone to like, which means it sells well.
