Who called it first?

You’re right, nobody was.

But they’ve all done it at least once by now.

Hi Maria… if you have to head to Allerton anyway, the Strawberry Fields visitor centre, John Lennon house, Eleanor Rigby plot, St Peter Church Hall and a few other Beatle attractions are all located within walking distance of the starting point of the parade… Might kill a few hours for ya if you get to the area early
You could even have a nice walk across Calderstones Park on the way to Allerton Road, and get a coffee and ice-cream at the Mansion House also…Just follow the crowds :0)

Do you reckon it will be busy?

Last time they had a parade with Jurgen on the bus… I went to Allerton Road at the commencement of the parade - It was fine… lots of people, which made for lots of noise and excitement from all those around. It helped make the buzz and a feeling of togetherness special. Lots of flags, banners, screaming and shouting of adulation towards those on the open top deck of the bus… It was a special occasion obviously, not one that comes around often enough…
The route is planned in such a way, that everyone in Liverpool has easy access to the route… If it was anything like last time… every Granny, Grandad, Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Cousin, Nephew, Niece in every Red family in the City… Will see that bus at some juncture - Must be amazing for the players, looking from the inside, out :0)

I will definitely take those tips with me . I did the Beatles tour, it was fascinating and took pictures of Strawberry fields. I love that area and Sefton Park. It takes you out of the city centre.

My friend who is driving up, (giving me a lift too, what a bonus) has only gone to the matches to Anfield and didn’t get time to look around the beautiful city. I am going to be her guide😃.
We have saturday and sunday. I will take her on the ferry.

I am thinking, isn’t it easier to take the bus from Liverpool One to Calderstones, Mossley Hill? I have to show her Lark Lane. I told her she needs trainers/walking shoes, not high heels

Thank you🙏

What is the dress l protocol? We can wear our LFC shirts on the day of the parade right?

Nah. You’ll be the only person wearing a Liverpool shirt in the whole city that day.

Some people say, you should only wear it on match days. I will have scarf to wave around.

I need to look at 2019 parade again, what they wore.

Loads of people will be wearing LFC shirts, and nobody will care what you wear as long as it’s red.
I doubt the fashion police will be out in force.

Is it legal to wear red suspenders and crutchless panties in public?

That’s because you wear the trousers around here.

But not in Croydon.

Refused to acknowledge it until after West Ham at Anfield, but realistically after the City and Newcastle wins in February — I knew Arsenal were not as strong as the last couple of years, but didn’t feel comfortable until then. At the start of April, I was super jaded from the Goodison draw and knew the return fixture would be a tough game, as well as Fulham being the classic banana skin, so if you’d said that we’d win 6 in 7 after the Villa draw — textbook example of a “good point” in hindsight  — and clinch in April, I’d have laughed in your face.

League results thus far (MW34):

  • 25 wins, 7 losses, 2 draws
  • Sequentially: WWWLWWWWDWWWWDDWWWDDWWWDWDWWWWLWWW

Observations:

  • At halfway, we had 46 points, Arsenal had 39. A seven-point lead at Christmas is far from unassailable in my eyes, and I fully expected more of a “wobble” than a pair of back-to-back draws and the Everton-Villa week where we still won a game in between.
  • Our longest winning run was 4 games (x3), compared to 18 in the title-winning season (August-February).
  • We also have 10 points fewer after the same match week (but who gives a fuck).
  • The biggest thing that stuck out to me, however, is that we never went more than 2 consecutive League games without winning…and in each of those four games, we managed draws after conceding the first goal. The adage of turning draws into wins was equally reinforced by turning potential losses into draws.
  • In that context, the Brentford away and Wolves at home feel big in terms of retaining some momentum and preventing a “true” wobble. Obviously Arsenal acquiesced in terms of failing to win when we dropped points: I think they were +2 on the Notts Forest week when they won NLD and +1 getting a point at Goodison when we lost at Fulham.
  • My biggest thing was to not allow them any encouragement post-break, so their draw at Goodison was helpful but I didn’t see the dropped points to Brentford or Palace coming…perhaps I should have!
  • We’re fucking Champions and we’re celebrating it properly this time!
