Who do you wish to sell

Not only that. Salah is an Arab by descent. His signing would represent a major coup for the Saudis.

If they gave 200m for Salah, would you guys take it?

If Ā£200 million quid was offered to me personally for Mo, then yes, of course.

Depends upon the currency.

British pounds of course!

We could rebuild the squad with that, so I would bite the hands off anyone who offered that for a player now 31 years of age and who could leave on a free transfer in two yearsā€™ time.

If Salah showed the inclination to leave.

Which would you prefer

  1. Ā£200 mil this summer
  2. Ā£100 mil next summer

This is a really good question. I like this.

On paper, without a second thought, Iā€™d rather have Ā£100mill next summer. Keep mo as long as possible but still get a sizeable fee? Hell yes.

But given the players available this summer, I think the first option might actually be right. Get Chiesa and Osinhem and figure it all out this season. As well as the midfielder and centre half we must already be targeting this window, obviously.

I can see it sooner rather than later to be honest. If he stayed another year, youā€™d like to think weā€™re instant favourites to win the Europa league, a trophy he hasnā€™t won. Even when the champions league teams drop into the competition, none of them will want to face us.

Back to Mo, been brilliant for us, 1.6 goals per game, superb return from somebody we all thought, ā€œokā€ when he signed.

Iā€™d take a ridiculous offer this summer if one was summoned, more strength from 2yrs left than 1yr.

Replacements, no idea.

Iā€™d rather have him for next season at least, so we can replace him when weā€™re in a better position than now. CL football hopefully back, on the back of maybe winning something, at least being competitive again. Also, during next season, I hope the other two positions get more stability. That it gets more clear how our attack is formed, so we have also a clearer picture what even type of player we need to replace Mo. Iā€™m not taking Salahā€™s average of 31 goals per season for granted. Especially when we have to climb up the table again and there are a few question marks over our other forwards.

I actually cannot say with confidence that Iā€™d sell him, which is why I put the question. Although past experience should tell me weā€™re good with this kind of thing (reinvesting a top player money), I canā€™t see how we replace 40+ goal contributions a season.

Moneyball it. They dont have to come from anyone player. Tighten up at the back we can also potentially get by with fewer.

200m this summer should have been enough to get Bellingham. I was one who would have happily sold Mo for that last summer if we could have then used that to get Jude plus another.

One thing to think about with the Saudi money is that it will have an inflationary effect on transfers. If they really are intent on buying buying buying, and it becomes a bigger thing than at present, as we all anticipate, then other players we might want to buy will, on the whole, increase in price.

If we were to get a large sum for Mo this summer, and we spent it before the whole market is skewed again, it would see us do some serious damage in renewing the team.

I would be in favour, but only on the proviso that Mo was too. If he wanted to stay, then his loyalty means something, not to mention what he brings as a player, and thatā€™s the end of it.

At the moment they havenā€™t skewed the market but the issue once they start dropping fees of 200m for players around 32 the 200m we get wonā€™t do much.

I think Iā€™d rather take 100m next season say on that basis considering itā€™s still a lot but not a completely crazy amount.

What Iā€™m saying is I would hope Salah would go for his perceived market value after another good season rather than a completely unrealistic value that basically just inflates the market.

Donā€™t sell yourself short mate. Sheā€™s getting on a bit, you might have a shot now :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Poor lad, even his thread title hasnā€™t been updated in a year

Dutch champions Feyenoord are interested in Nat Phillips, who is valued by #LFC at around Ā£10m. https://t.co/qG3rw2kEMS

Mentioned elsewhere but players I think we may be open to selling would be

Phillips
Matip
Thiago

Possibles

Fabinho
Hendo

Whether any go remains to be seen but I do feel we will be looking at a CB.

I think weā€™ll have to stop calling him lad soon.

Maybe geezer would be more appropriate.
