Who would you buy? (Part 2)

I guess we did get that £10m to release him early, but still, feels like a bit of a slap in the face lol

Yeah, same here (funnily enough, that fee feels like a kick in the teeth from Real Madrid and a ā€œfuck youā€ to Real Madrid at the same time) but I guess the club will take anything they can get to sustain their, erm, self-sustainable model. :joy: Especially as that money has been received for an academy product.

I hope it is Ekitike. Back on his upward trajectory, some experience but still young, he’s already good but with plenty of improvement to come. Improving players is Slot’s forte, so if Ekitike is hungry and humble, he will fit in really well.

I worry about his finishing but he seems the best option out there for me. If we can get him for 50m max. Hopefully less.

If you were him you would never choose Chelsea or Man U over us!

If I was him I’d already be a Liverpool player because there’s no other club I’d want to play for.
In addition, I’d be younger, richer and better looking, so I’d be doing a lot of shagging.

I wont lie, reading a piece about a potential Darwin replacement whose biggest weakness is identified as weak unreliable finishing that doesnt live up to his xG makes me need a drink.

But Im ready to be hurt again.

We might activate ā€œthe power of NOā€ button.

I like it when we do that sometimes, it also carries a lot of value, if you have solid enough options to resist. For most people, you always have to do ā€˜something’.

When we do a bit of selling after Kerkez and see what’s left on the market that’s interesting to us… if Ekitike is not taken by another club, but too expensive for our liking.

I think we might say f*ck it, we’ll figure out something else.

I don’t want us to go all in for Ekitike this summer if we’re not 100% convinced he’s the best choice and then there might be a much better situation on the market for strikers in 12 months, if not earlier.

But I’m always open for the club surprising us all in a good way, or players who we don’t know much about to impress us in a new environment.

We turned 142M into 4.7B in 7 years? Has someone at the club been playing with Bitcoin?

Salty or bitter?

Salty is how they’re acting? At this point they should officially change their name to the Bitters (from the Toffees)

So net spend wise were at about -Ā£185m before significant sales have started. Reckon with Nunez, Quansah, Elliott, Chiesa, Morton and one of Robbo or Kostas we’ll be getting close to somewhere around -Ā£50m leaving us plenty of headroom to go back out for a forward and a CB.

More I think about it the more I reckon we go after a wide forward with a long term view on succession plan for Mo or Diaz and then rely on Diaz, Jota, Gakpo and Wirtz as our central forward.

Guehi and Malick Fofana would make for a pretty stunning window. Would give us the next two summers to focus on plans to replace Virg, Mo/Diaz and a backup LB.
