Who would you buy?

Oh yeah. He was going to be a bosman but we fumbled getting him in the January window before that summer so honoured the deal we had with Fulham instead of doing the tribunal thing.

Still can’t believe we got £22.5m for him plus a whacking great sell on fee.

According to some we will have about 9 players next season.

The Almighty will be hoping we have then cab cry whinge whine for 4 months.

The defense is more of a priority for us rather than the attack. Sure we get one guy in attack if Salah leaves and another provided we manage to move either of Diaz/Nunez for good money.

But it’s more to do with a CB , LB and One RB. That takes any precedence over a rebuilding of the attack.

€62m release clause. We do love release clause :face_with_peeking_eye:

Increasingly thinking he’s the one for us. And that Wolves getting relegated would be really helpful in making that happen.

I’m not sure there would be any difficulty if they were to stay up either, particularly if he has a release clause?

I’d be surprised if it took the release clause if they got relegated.

There’s a 5 point gap to Ipswich and Leicester below, and Wolves have started to play better, too.

I would be very surprised if they were relegated.

If Cunha is the one, we can still negotiate, but I think a few teams will want him so the release clause will likely have to be met.

Wolves are likely already safe.

I’m of the opposite opinion. Rebuilding the attack should be the priority. Nunez simply isn’t good enough and should be sold. If that 70 million pound offer from Saudi is still on the table then we should take the money. Ditto Diaz. If Barca really do want him and actually make a sensible offer, then we should say muchus gracias and take the money.

Buying Cunha would seem to be a good move, and if Mo were also to leave then we should go for Mbeumo, IMO.

I don’t see why we should buy an RB even if Trent were to leave. We’ve got Bradley and Gomez and that should be enough, at least for one more season and I don’t think anyone would disagree about the need for a CB and an LB. As for the latter, I think the club should do right by Robbo and keep him but sell Tsimikas. Weren’t Atleti said to be interested in him at one time?

Both of whom are susceptible to injury.

We definitely need to buy another right back if Trent leaves, especially as Ramsay doesn’t look as though he will make the grade.

Totally agree with Cynnie. As a club with PL and CL ambitions, that’s not good enough. No disrespect to either player, but both are likely to miss large spells and we have nothing after that.

Yes, I suppose you and Cynnie are right, but who though?

I talked about this in particular with my Liverpool-supporting mates yesterday. One of them would like both Bradley and Gomez sold because of their susceptibility to injuries but the other one and I are definitely in the “keep” camp for Bradley, though we’re still undecided on Gomez. I’m actually pleased with how Gomez has been playing for the past year and a half but the injuries are starting to rear their ugly head again and he’s been pretty poor for a large period prior to the start of the last season.

I expect a right back to be bought this summer, though, alongside a left back, a midfielder and a striker. If Gomez and Diaz are sold, I also expect the club to buy a centre back and a left winger. Again, that might be a significant, unexpected turnover by Liverpool’s standards but the summer is as good a time as any.

If we sell too many home grown players, will we be running into problems filling the squad out?

It comes up often, Trent’s, Kelleher’s and Morton’s departures will definitely hurt that quota - and it might be the reason that keeps Elliott and Gomez for one more season. That said, McConnell will likely take up one of those spots from the next season, I think Quansah will, too? We’ll see what happens with Bajčetić but I think he’ll go out on another loan, so that discussion might be moot.
