Women's Football: General Discussions

Well James didn’t even start the first match and now everyone knows how to get her off her game by marking her tightly so maybe it’s best she doesn’t play

Straight red means she misses the rest of the tournament

He was Earp.

Not Earps

Lucky for England they are in the weak side of the draw.

I’d say reward for winning your group. Although we need to up our game if Nigeria can give us such a hard time

I know, I know. But couldn’t resist it.

Seek professional help

When will managers learn that brining in a “penalty specialist” near the end of extra time doesn’t work. Yesterday the US penalty specialist hit the post with a poor slow-penalty attempt and today the Nigerian one missed as well

Nigeria are a credit to their nation, their performance was incredible.

I’m devastated for them but this tournament will really bring them together.

Yet Mewis scored hers with what I think was her first kick of the tournament.

By the time O Hara’s penalty came around they were already into sudden death meaning you’re not exactly on your best takers at that point so she was not brought on as a specialty, but more using a sub you have left over to bring on someone more willing to put their hand up to take one if it comes down to it.

Even knew her sister… Brenda - Got stuck with the moniker B Earps…

Will get my coat :0)

In a world cup it’s only an automatic 1 game ban, but it can be elevated to a 3 game ban after review.

She got kicked all over the pitch with impunity she cracked in the end she will regret being so impetuous luckily England ended up not losing the match because of it

Yes but England got VAR to overturn a penalty decision for England for the same reason

Yeah, the way to leave something on the opponent is during a challenge for the ball…next time tempt your opponent with a nice little 50-50 ball and go thundering into the challenge.
