Women's Football: General Discussions

Why would you want to inflict that on them?!

Why should Konate be paid lesser than VVD? They are doing the same job, on the same team, in the same position.

How dare you assume all their genders!!!

You seem to have gone to quite a bit of trouble to find pictures of her arse.

Would you prefer she leave her arse at home?

She can leave it with me if she wants.

It literally presented itself in my Facebook feed, so no I didn’t.

I remember when a common insult was that women footballers were all ugly lesbians that look like boys. Now they care too much about their looks or something.

I have to laugh when I see them interviewed. As well as speaking in cliches like the men most of them are covered in tattoo’s, seen a few with full sleeves. I wonder if they’d have them if they worked in an office or something. All seems very contrived.

Just Googled her and it was mainly pictures of her in various football kits and probably too much makeup. Are you signed up to the Footballers Bums Facebook group?

Facebook algorithm presents some odd random stuff.
Bit like here

She’s one of the few female footballers to come out as gay, something that’s unfortunately still completely unheard of in men’s football. Makeup aside, it’s a matter of taste. I don’t think every male footballer has a great body or a stylish hairstyle. It’s simply unnecessary to comment on it. I find such statements completely inappropriate. Body shaming should have no place here.

Edit

If you’re constantly seeing photos like this on Facebook, maybe you should clear your browser history, Google searches, and cookies. It might help.

I wasnt body shaming, I commented that young girls might be more focussed on copying the look rather than the talent

Similar concept to 80’s stick thin models complicit in peer pressure which saw many young girls become anorexic.

But anyway, its been removed, we can all breath a sigh of relief.

Edit. It was a football trivia feed, but thanks for your unwanted concern

There are certainly countless young boys who copy the looks of their idols, be it Ronaldo or Bellingham’s hairstyles or whoever. But are we so worried that they’re not focusing enough on their talent? I think I already know the answer.

BIG difference between a 12 year old boy copying a hairstyle and a 12 year old girl copying that look in regards to how they may be viewed or treated.

But you know that, now move along please

Yep, I think I’d better stop reading here, there have already been enough illuminating insights on this topic.

Edit

I have to say one final thing: It’s presumably very rare for heterosexual girls to have lesbian/bisexual role models and emulate them. Parents shouldn’t really worry about that. But for girls, who have doubts about their sexuality, she could be a very brave role model who simply stands up for who she is.

The relevant point throughout is the FA ban on women’s football. At the time these women were getting record crowds.

FIFA under “today I feel like a giant bellend” suggested growing the game with shorter half’s and other random bollocks and yet if I’m honest you want to expand it then the female fan is probably the best option. Silly tournaments in places that will never massively Increase the reach of the game won’t.

At least now they’re treating the game with respect, an asset to circumvent financial rules :+1:

Given that investing in the women’s team is something excluded from FFP, profiteering from it should also be excluded.
