Players all over the world now doing the Jota celebration, by sitting down and playing with an invisible controller, after scoring.

Not to be crude, but what happens to all of this stuff?

I think at some stage he was the top player in the world, and also think that was everyone, not just pro football players.
Touching article
When the chairman at Leicester City passed away most of the things that could be preserved were. Shirts, scarves and those type of things were all collected and either relocated to places of remembrance or stored. Flowers were composted and the compost used to plant the memorial garden in his name.
It’s another of those horrible practical discussions that will have to happen but I doubt anything gets disposed of or given away that can be kept.
I think that’s what is coming across with Jota that he was such a nice guy.
I think he is right about them getting it through it together.

Reminds me the Jurgen quote:
“it’s not important what people think when you come in but what they think when you leave.”
I think he is right about them getting it through it together.
I have no doubt players will recover and maybe even be champions for him. But at the same time, I can’t stop thinking this won’t matter a lot to Rute and their kids.

These Jota celebrations all across the world are so heartwarming.
From Rushie
“At Liverpool, we’ve always seen ourselves as one big family. Now one of our own is gone, so we must all come together and support each other. The past few days have shown that.
I was invited and intended to attend Diogo’s funeral, but my brother Gerald passed away last week, and I was helping with the funeral arrangements when I heard the news about Diogo. It’s been a very difficult time, and I wasn’t able to attend. He had not been well for a while, but just like with Diogo, it still hasn’t fully sunk in.
Diogo’s wife Rute, their three wonderful children, his parents, and all his family are suffering an unimaginable loss. This terrible accident took the lives of both Diogo and his brother André Silva. We grieve deeply for both of them.
Diogo was a fantastic player – probably the best natural finisher at the club. He always gave 100%. He made a difference whether he started or came off the bench. He never chased headlines, and off the pitch, he was the same.
He was a very humble man, a true gentleman. He just did his job. He will be missed immensely – not just for the incredible player he was on the pitch for Liverpool and Portugal, but for the special person he was.
This is especially tough on the Liverpool players, who will soon return to pre-season training. They’re expected to get on with their jobs, but they’re human beings who feel emotions like the rest of us.
Some players will be more affected than others. Right now, it’s hard for anyone to truly process what’s happened. You try to carry on as normal, but it’s impossible. It all feels so strange, and some will have a delayed reaction because the reality hasn’t fully hit yet.
I believe that when someone dies, you carry on with life, but only weeks later do you truly understand the magnitude of the loss. You know you have to move forward, but it’s incredibly hard.
Diogo will never be forgotten – because he gave everything for Liverpool.
Our Portuguese boy. Forever.”
Nice one from Rushie.
