The game should move on. Playing football is the best way forward.
I don’t want to say it’s what Diogo would want. But it is what it is.
For other teams, I agree.
The key is how are our players? They have lost a friend and teammate, and their emotional state will play a large part in when they are ready to play again. Some will no doubt think the quicker they can get back to playing the better, others will need more time to process and accept that they will never see Jots or hear his laugh ever again.
Personally I think any decision should be put off until next Tuesday, to see what stage of grieving everyone is at - but also having the squad all together could help get the grieving process moving along.
Nat Phillips …that was straight from the heart and so eloquent…well said…it’s hard for everyone, but especially for those who knew him well…YNWA…Nat Phillips you are a credit to LFC…
That programme has just started me off again…
I wasn’t sure about posting my thoughts wrt the collateral impact of the 10/20/24 Chelsea game on this whole tragedy and the performance of the ref on Tosin’s foul on Jota. Until I saw this:
And my anger at this returns…
This thought did occur to me as well. But things in life aren’t necessarily linear mate.
I’ve been thinking about this the last few days. It’s fucking crazy how 1 incident in a game of football can set off a chain of events that end in such a tragic way. That’s assuming the injury Diogo suffered in that game was the underlying reason why he was advised not to fly. Has this been confirmed at all?
