This thought did occur to me as well. But things in life aren’t necessarily linear mate.

I’ve been thinking about this the last few days. It’s fucking crazy how 1 incident in a game of football can set off a chain of events that end in such a tragic way. That’s assuming the injury Diogo suffered in that game was the underlying reason why he was advised not to fly. Has this been confirmed at all?

Reported that he was advised not to fly because of his recovery from a surgery to address a persistent lung issue he had been dealing with that was a complication of his broken rib. Several people here speculated that might have been a complication he was dealing with given how labored he looked even after what was a surprisingly lengthy absence

Agreed. We live by His Grace…But I couldn’t hear but wonder…Especially wrt the poor refereeing performance

Was thinking that also. The butterfly effect

After the news broke, I gotta travel the very next day, so I went about my thing, and this morning when I settle down for a coffee, suddenly it dawned on me again, he is gone, a person, just gone like that. Just like anyone else on our life, when the person is gone, it’s forever. Puts alot of perspective into your life. It’s a surreal feeling that a player, a human whom I saw scored one of the most important goals in April against Everton, is gone. Not because he has gone to another club, but gone forever. We will never see him play football again.

Klopp summed it up typically when he said I am puzzled by Jota’s sudden death, there must be a bigger purpose, but I cannot see it.

Looking at the state of the car, I don’t think this any surprise.

I hate the drip drip drip approach. Just release the report when it’s done. There’s no rush.

I went to the Portuguese embassy yesterday evening. It was really kind of the staff to let the London branch pay our tribute. The ambassador took time out of his busy schedule to meet with us and he invited us inside the Embassy reception room for drinks, Portuguese wine and soft drinks. He met and everyone of us and he was so grateful that we came.

It was very heartfelt. We were all feeling down, but the fact we were all together and trying to stay positive, helped us all in our own way. I think we rallied round each other and said that we needed to meet more as London branch in happier times as well.

He also said that as a child, his favourite childhood team was Liverpool and his favourite player was Kevin Keegan with his playing partner John Toshack.

Oh yes, absolutely, thanks for the reminder. I am part of TAN more so, as I regularly interact with you guys and gals more than the London branch to be honest.

After our meeting with H.E ambassador Nuno Brito, we all went to the pub near the embassy, the drinks were on the Ambassador again I think, in a tribute to Diogo and his brother. We all kind of chatted with each other and talked about the tragedy, like how we still couldn’t believe this tragic news. It felt alot like a wake, without the coffin, as alot of us didn’t know each other, we knew each other’s names and we raised our drinks to Diogo and Andre. We all started singing Diogo’s song in unison. We then signed a condolences book which will be sent to the LFC club and then onto the family.

This thread should be about honouring the memory of Diogo Jota.

In my very humble opinion…

Police reports, commentary or speculation on the accident or discussion on tyres etc should have no place in this sacred space.
