I was there in Anfield watching him do that
Absolutely heart breaking and shocking. RIP Diogo. Loved every moment of his with us.. can’t even process this..
Devastating. RIP Diogo. Just unbelievably sad.
Absolutely shocking news of Diogo and his brother losing their lives like this. Heartbreaking for all of his Family. YNWA.
Just seen a pic of the car…no ones surviving that
This is tragic, life taken too early and leaving behind a young family, my thoughts and condolences go to all, whether it is family friends and even us fans.
Jota was a favourite both on and off the pitch, he had fire in his belly and I loved to see him wind up opposing players. Then off the pitch he had a quirky mischeivous smile and a dry sense of humour.
Will be sadly missed for a vast amount of reasons RIP Diogo, I salute you.
I saw someone on Twitter commenting that we should retire the no20 shirt in tribute to Diogo. I don’t usually agree with retiring shirts, but in this case I would support it.
Tend to agree, something feels right about that in this situation.
Thank you for the memories, My heart go out to his wife, children and loved ones. This is such a tragedy.
RIP
I wouldn’t mind that happening temporarily. Atleast till the period of Jota’s remaining contract with us. What happens later is upto the club.
Genuinely too stunned to know what to say.
A tragic loss of a father, husband and a great player. Thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Truly awful news.
No words. Just
Heartbreaking.
A wonderful player and an even better man.
First thought that popped into my head, once I had processed the sad news. It seems right.
Sadness.
I don’t think retiring shirts is something we do. Though I’d imagine it won’t be issued to another player for at least a decade or so.
I don’t think many football clubs do but rarely if ever is a player who is arguably in his prime had his time cut short in such a devastating manner.
I lost my father when I was four years old, and know what they’ll miss. It’s heartbreaking. They also lose an uncle who could have become someone important in their lives after their father’s death.
Think about the young mother too, who will have to raise her three children without Diogo’s support and protection…
Edit: and Diogo’s parents too, they lose their two young sons …
I have just seen this thread. Absolutely shocking and tragic news. He only just got married. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Also, his brother died with him.
I am still trying to process this news.
Y.N.W.A Diogo Jota
