2026 FIFA World Cup qualification

I hope, Curacao and Suriname can achieve the historic qualification for a FIFA World Cup.

Great for them, but I already know that I will not watch maybe a third of the competition.

But hey, FIFA, just keep adding teams

If Italy fail to qualify from that then maybe they should consider giving up football all together

I think Bradley will have something to say about that.

Give me Wales’ anthem at home against Italy.

And f*ck me, completely forgot that Sweden are still somehow in it with a chance after winning 2 points in their group stage, due to Nations League.

i am very, very confused, someone is going to have to explain this to me. How does Sweden get there and Hungry doesn’t?

Nations League.

You should have sent me a message, I have now wasted my time asking that question.

I also completely forgot about it.

Quite questionable whether they’ll be able to qualify even through this route. Having two renowned strikers sometimes isn’t enough even to qualify, eh

Dom needs a rest, Alex needs game time.

Sweden have looked garbage and it didn’t really change when Potter came in. I’ll be supporting Ukraine anyhow.

It can hardly change so quickly at international level after I guess a few training sessions and 2 games, also with Gyokeres out injured and Isak out of shape.

They’ve looked worse though, he came in on the back of some bad stuff and seems to have had the reverse of a manager bounce.

I saw their two games against Switzerland. In the first match in Sweden, they were garbage, bar one good move with a shot from Isak on the post. Switzerland absolutely dominated them. In the return match in Geneva, it was a bit different. During 60-65 minutes, they were on the same level in terms of dangerosity and control of the ball. Switzerland had a much harder time to move them around. It’s only in the 25 last minutes that Switzerland could finally find the opening for the 2-1 (thanks to a penalty), and then the dynamic of the game moved away from them. But had they scored the 1-2, things would have been different. At least, they looked like a team that time around.

So who knows
if Isak, Gyokeres, Elanga and a few others find their mojo back until next spring, they could still qualify (their keeper isn’t up to scratch though, from what I saw).

Love it when someone comes up with a new word I have never heard, thought you’d made it up lol

It comes from the french: dangerosité. But I looked it up, and it is apparently correct in English too. :slightly_smiling_face:

I like it. I will have to use it sometime, probably in relation to our interns.

In reality, Sweden has good players but a dysfunctional player group. Now Potter gets more time, they may actually go through.

But I will probably cheer on Ukraine
