2026 FIFA World Cup qualification

Can’t believe Neymar is in the squad. He spends half the time injured.

It’s interesting how many the Brazil squad are still playing in Brazil. Given the specific players, I wonder if that represents a bit of a block in the development pipeline (resorting to having to stay with older players) more than a resurgence of the Brazilian league

Lots of Ex pat Iranians treat the pre-revolutionary flag as the real flag of Iran. FIFA have announced that those flags are banned from games.

The ebola crisis that is emerging in Central Africa has just compelled the US to institute travel bans for non-citizens (an ineffective tool, but very Trumpian) who have been in affected regions. This includes the entire Democratic Republic of Congo side affiliated personnel.

Just read that Jhon Durán was left out of Néstor Lorenzo’s plans for the Colombian national team. What a total waste of a talent…but he got the money!

Still a possibilty of Trent making it, apparently. Given the injuries among the other defenders, I can’t see how he could leave out Real Madrid’s right back, especially when he is playing every game there.
