Al-Sandcastle - the sportswashing barcodes

Joelinton was an easy red. Yellow would have been a let-off. He got nothing?

I thought it was handball for the Bournemouth goal at first sight. Then all the replays made me second guess it a bit, but overall, still handball. The diameter of the ball goes from elbow to shoulder. If you play it with your shoulder it is a different motion. This one looked like it was mostly off his upper arm, so handball.

He got a yellow for that. Ref saw it as a tactical foul. Was basically the last kick of the match.

Defo not enough time for it to have affected the outcome of the match, but just had to be a red.

A direct red (for dangerous play) would have seen him get suspended for the next game. That would affect Newcastle’s season.

It should have been red for violent conduct and three game ban.

I am surprised that one of his defenders did not go after Joelinton, speaking of violent conduct.

I was too, but guess discretion got the better. No sense getting yourself a red, but said to my wife when that happened, ā€œIf I were their defender, I’d be having a go.ā€

Yeah, in my league that would probably be a fight. Red card and multi-game suspension, and we pass the hat to pay the fine.

Agreed - I was thinking specifically about the game result, but Joelinton 100% deserved a suspension for that bs. And really it says something unflattering about Bournemouth that no one really stepped up to protect their keeper in that moment.

Isak injured again during FA Cup. Anyone still think he’s worth paying over 100m?

In his 3 seasons at Newcastle, his record is

Played 98 Scored 57 so well above a goal every 2 games. We can further break it down by each season
22/23
Played 27 - Scored 10

23/24
Played 40 - Scored 25

24/25
Played 31 - Scored 22

If we are losing Salah this summer, then yes, I would definitely still take him

Don’t want to go on the transfer fee. But if we can afford him , we should take him.

Sandcastle are now having an open top bus to celebrate their Milk Cup. Apparently fans are desperate to pretend they are a big club.

I’ve absolutely no problem with Newcastle fans celebrating to the maximum after finally winning a trophy after so long. Let them enjoy it.

The club itself, under their current owners…fuck them.

Considering state punishment in Saudi this could have been worded better.

I know I shouldn’t be laughing at this but I think it’s precisely what the author aimed for.

Just seen it on the Beeb. Fuck them, really. We’ve had countless years of people mocking us for winning the Mickey Mouse Cup and somehow they’ve managed to con the world into thinking this is now a fairy tale story weeks before the actual game.

A parade? For the Carabao Cup?? The fuckers will amongst the first to call it Mickey Mouse the minute we win it again.

I don’t get it really. Who mocked us? Twitter fans? Mickey mouse cup…fine…but its still a major trophy. If it was was so mickey mouse why are we the record holders? Must be shite then?

70 years…its a long time with no silverware. It meant a lot to real fans.

Oh look we’ve been mocked so lets mock others. Stuff of school playgrounds.
