It’s their first trophy in decades, a parade is at least understandable.
It’s the least important of the 4 main trophies in a season, but it’s a major trophy. Remove those domestic cups (or lesser trophies overall) and club histories suddenly look a lot different.
I don’t take them for granted even as a Liverpool fan, let alone if I was a fan of a club where generations have passed without a trophy to be seen.
Saw bits of their celebration, bloody hell they don’t have two songs do they. Not a very rich repertoire. Was hoping at least for Mark Knopfler to appear and do Local Hero.
Why it’s almost like nobody uses the internet. We’re all Twitter or at least Internet fans now. Not like there weren’t any ‘real’ fans, whatever that is, calling it Mickey Mouse. Its a fact that people called it Mickey Mouse, even on here ffs (might not have been the real fans that we have, I suppose, I’ll have to check my notes) and whenever we were in with a chance if winning, or won it, the detractors would start so ja, it’s all a bit rich to now start lauding the achievement and having parades about it.
Newcastle with some games in hand, there’s a chance opening up for them to secure CL football (top 5, right?). Getting Isak might be more difficult if they achieve it.
I used to get very stressed out by work at times but I can’t imagine what these guys must go through. Hope he makes a full recovery and thinks seriously whether it is worth it. I do think they must get hooked on the adrenaline rush though. Benitez is a prime example.
Maybe playing at home against a combined Man United team who have Europa League as their only goal this season isn’t the best fixture to judge Newcastle by but I vaguely remember stronger teams dropping points to that lot.
I’ll say it now: if Newcastle continue on this trajectory, they will become a force to be reckoned with in Premier League - their squad depth isn’t there yet but their playing style is awesome and they have a bunch of players that I really admire (and some good ones that I can’t stand).
It’s not so easy in practice, especially for a well drilled side, but on paper at least a lot of those players you’d think would be relatively easy to upgrade so as a group they still have a good deal of room for improvement
HERE WE GO! Newcastle agree deal to sign 18 year old Spanish talent Antonio Cordero from Malaga as free agent in the summer. Announcement set to take place for Cordero joining Newcastle project, all details have now been sorted. Barcelona and Real Madrid were both interested and keen on signing Cordero but he’s picked Newcastle.
from a footballing POV Newcastle is a pretty attractive project…he hasnt ‘sold his soul’…hes litterally looking at the next pragmatic step along the journey
