Imagine… someone is actually that fucking stupid.
I think it’s blindly obvious we are selling Elliott.
It’s the obvious PR for the barcodes. They keep Isak and are happy with that. We buy Ekitike and are happy with that. We would have bought Isak with any willing to sell, but the Saudi paymasters shut that down. Everyone got what they wanted/needed.
I would MUCH rather be in our position than theirs.
Edit:
And I completely agree on Elliott. From his quotes at the end of last season, about thinking about his career, to his tears on the pitch as though he was drinking it in being a Liverpool player for the last time, his departure has looked nailed on.
Most have commented on that - quality player, top fella, and there’s a lot of love for Harvey Elliott. He has played a lot of games for Liverpool, given his years, but last season was a downturn, and we have since strengthened. We can see the writing on the wall, but there’s nothing but affection for Elliott. Good player.
For Sandcastle special price: 65m pounds. Eddie Howe is a genius.
Don’t they realised that they got 8 more matches to play in the CL which will be an additional strain on their players?
Only one not happy is Isak, which they have forgot
Given the latest developments with Isak being left out of the squad for the friendly match, how is this theory working out?
He hasn’t even bought Elliott.
The same Eddie howe , the genius who bought Jordon Ibe from us.
Forget David Moyes, Eddie Howe is clearly a football genius.
Ok, this feels a bit conspiratorial, but I invite you to come on a journey with me…
Here is an entire article about the out of left field interest Al Hilal have in Isak. Not once does it mention even in passing that the Saudi club is owned by the same Saudi entity as Newcastle, and certainly steers clear of the controversy around such a move.
Ok, maybe I am mistaken. Am I being racist…“not all Saudi clubs…” so I go to Wiki to read their club page to double check whether PIF do in fact own them. I scan it quickly and cannot see any reference to their ownership and so Ctrl F looking for PIF. I get 1 result - in the title of the first citation listed in the reference list, something reporting on PIF’s purchase of them. Ok, so I go back to the top of the page and start searching for the specific statement where that citation was used, and it is no where to be found. The first statement with a citation lists it as [2].
It certainly appears that someone has gone to the wiki to scrub the ownership from the page but did a bad job updating the references.
Eddie Howe is going to sell Isak to Al-Hilal so that they then don’t give us a huge pile of cash for Nunez which means we’ll have to sell them Elliott to balance the books.
Eddie Howe, transfer genius at it again.
“We have to hoodwink Liverpool, get the Elliot guy, get Isak on loan and win the PL”
“How(e)?”
“Exactly…”
There are a handful of Saudi clubs not owned by PIF. Gerrard’s ex club being one example. But the major ones are almost definitely PIF owned.
yeah, not owned by PIF, but…yknow…kinda not, not owned by PIF either
It’s all a bit DDR
