Al-Sandcastle - the sportswashing barcodes

edward woodward - Man U chief:

If you watch that video you can see how shite he was when he is praised for Ole at the wheel; a ‘coherent transfer policy’ of re-signing Ronaldo and Sancho and being just a few players away from being a ‘top class squad’…

The owner of RB is incredibly offended at Newcastle’s offer as he has made clear multiple times he is a big fan of Sesko

Yep - can’t believe they only only offered 75mil and some add ons when it had been made very very clear it would take 75 mil plus add ons to get the deal done.

It’s incredibly disrespectful. RB have been very clear what the price is.

good to see the plucky humble underdogs stand up against the cartel

I’ve had some really entertaining conversations with Geordie fans over the last week or so. Some highlights.

  • the lad moaning it would take decades for Newcastle to build up the commercial revenues to challenge Liverpool. Called me a bin dipping cunt when I pointed out that Liverpool had spent decades doing just that and Newcastle - with its massive stadium and passion fanbase - could have done exactly the same had they wanted to.

  • the geordie lad who said it is impossible for any club outside ‘the cartel’ to qualify for the champions league. Had to remind him where his club finished last year (and Villa the year before).

  • I liked the fella giving it the big ones at Honest Eddie Howe claiming that Newcastle always try to do their business in the right way. I asked him if he would describe Wissa going AWOL, or Anthony Gordon before that, as ‘the right way’. Apparently they are totally different.

  • the confused lad moaning about cartel clubs selling their women’s teams to themselves to fund spending. Clubs currently in the process of exploiting this loophole? Villa and Everton. That wasn’t what he meant, apparently.

I do wish people would lay off calling Liverpool a cartel club.

We are a big club with a big fanbase. That’s about it.

So are United , but then they do fuck all about it recently.

If anything it’s easier for clubs in the PL to be competitive as opposed to the tv rights distribution money for clubs in la liga , Bundesliga where the real cartel clubs run the roost.

Eddie Howe: I don’t need to be successful in the transfer market to be a football genius, and I am a football genius…with apologies to The Moyesiah.

We were linked with him before he moved to Italy.

A 6’ 4" German international CB who is comfortable enough on the ball to play DM if needed is how he is typically described.

I dont need to see the 10 games…I’m in

Howe this morning…

That team looks a little top heavy

Regarding the transfer window, Mark Goldbridge just said…

“Eddie Howe has been turned down more times this summer than a thermostat in a heatwave” :0)

Probably not so good for our Isak situation, but it’s pretty shocking that apparently no one wants to go to Newcastle. Is Eddie Howe so unlikable? Their project seems to be a joke if no one wants to go there. It seems the United name still has enough appeal, or is it just a question of money?

I still think a lot of players are looking at that club and thinking if I sign a contract, smash it, and a big club come in for me, these bellends are going to be really difficult about it.

Yeah, Newcastle aren’t doing themselves a favour in the way they have treated and continue to treat Isak. It’s not only them refusing him a move to a big club, but also reneging on their promise to give him an improved deal before that. Any potential target will look at that and consider his options.

That being said, this is excellent news for anyone not wanting the Saudis to succeed in the PL. Hopefully they continue to act like bellends, fingers crossed.

Howe is likeable, I don’t think that’s a problem. But maybe this demonstrates the value of having a good Sporting Director/DOF in place for transfers. There’s a vacuum at the top at Newcastle after recent departures, and it seems like Howe’s brother is one of the main guys trying to get deals done this summer.

It could be when they actually come to speak to players and agents about a move the current setup just seems a bit ad-hoc and amateurish vs the likes of us.
