And yet pretty much every Liverpool fan whether they wanted us to close a deal at the fee being talked about since the end of last season have all highlighted how the deal could be a very positive one both in strengthening their squad and their PSR position.

I thought the deal for Woltemade to Bayern failed to go through because they weren’t willing to pay the asking price so he didn’t turn down Bayern, they just didn’t value him as being worth the price Stuttgart wanted.

Yeah the story being presented is Bayern wanted to wait until next season when he’d be free, assuming their draw and early signaled intention was enough to lock him down for one more year. But when Newcastle came in he decided he’d rather take it than wait a year to go to Bayern.

He’s been available all summer. Bayern were just too stingy, and, as usual, entitled.

Yes, but he may not have been open to a move to Newcastle until now. Early summer he may have been thinking Bayern or one of the other bigger clubs may come in for him.
Conversations may have been different, but it’s been floated since Im sure as long ago as before last season ended that Bayern were more interested in waiting a year and getting him on a free next summer.
