Itās fine. I like to suss out who is actually interested enough in the topic of conversation to explain why they disagree with my assessment, be it of a topic or of them. Quite easy to go ad hominem and walk away imagining an insult.
As for this, I never told you to go walk alone did I?
I think Newcastleās aim this year will be to finish top 10, looks like they are set to drop a few hundred mil in January so that should help their pursuit. A summer of similar spending and next year theyāll be up in the top 6 before really going all out and sealing top 4 and a championship push. It will take 3-5 years for them to get to our level players wise I think.
Weāll see
I can see Oxlade-Chamberlain in Newcastle colours. Donāt know why. Some players just really āfitā. Obviously Origi, Karius, Phillips, and Neco Williams are all potentially available as well but I donāt really see them as being a good fit nor the profile of player new owners of Newcastle would be looking at.
AOC, a Champions League, PL, and FA Cup winner, England International, in a role Newcastle need strengthening, looking for game time, high-ish profileā¦yeah, I can see that appealing to both club and player tbh.
Dangle stories of a possible Arsenal return and suddenly thereās a bidding war on transfer fee and wages.
We get Ā£30m plus. AOC gets a pay rise and more regular footie. Happy days.
But do we take the money? Or do we accept that somebody will and it may as well be us, and just try and rinse them for as much as we can get?
Interesting shout on Ox. He could be in their first wave of players, to drag them up the table. Might be win win as you say, on playing time and wages. The visibility will also be there as there will be a lot of interest in Newcastle now.
Would I sell our player to them? Yes.
It partly feels wrong, but the decision on including their owners was made by others. Now that it has been made and they are āinā we should do whatever we can to benefit LFC. Selling Ox for a tidy sum fits the bill. Arguably they could use an Origi level player too, although they might already be looking higher, even from their lowly position. They wonāt get top tier players yet though, but thereās an awful lot of players they could sign who will get them up the table.
Yes, take the money. To not do so would be to end up without a nose.
Thereās a difference between not wanting to be owned by a regime such as the Saudis and refusing to do business with them. We buy their oil but we donāt want them to run the country, do we?
Saudi Newcastle?
The carpet baggers?
The bonesaws?
Barcode bin Salmans?
The 9/11 guys?
The toon towels?
Whitewash United
Newcastle āMore gays and scantily dressed women plsā United.
The Saudi Barcodes.
Barcodes of Arabia.
The Other Oil Team (TOON)
Iād swerve any serious deal with them. Because in the long term, it means that we allow them to become stronger than us. Iād not sell them anyone who can strengthen them significantly.
But they can have our duds and our over-aged and injury-prone players if they want, for Ā£100 millions each.
So youāre ok with selling AOC to them?
The Ox would probably take the move up to Newcastle if itās available and heās getting a handsome wage. But will be dependant on the incoming manager I guess. The fact his missus is from Newcastle probably makes the move easier, if it were an option on the table.
Errā¦
Newcabal
Sandcastle United
Shearer off his leg with a bone saw?
Allegedly.
If this thread is just going to become a poor banter thread, itās better off being closed.
