Alexander ISAK: 2025/26

Slot sitting at home now muttering to himself -“Isak the bastard, got me sacked”

Maybe he should be wondering why all his players do better for their national teams than for him…

An absolutely superb goal. If he can replicate that kind of things with us, next season will be fun!

Not sure Isak alone is what got him sacked.

Bit like his leg then …sorry

…the point being, he scored a wonder goal in the shirt of Sweden, yet never did the same for Slot in an LFC one…

Not exactly a ringing endorsement of him, was it?

There are the things he says, but there is also the body language, and that one is clear enough. :joy:

Crazy what can happen when you play a pass forwards every so often

Isak might be the first player to get both his former and current (well, now former) managers sacked in short time.

Howe is Eddie doing?

The players are training to say nothing. I would be searching for any kind of meaning in these comments.

Liverpool FC is a workplace and some will have liked Arne more than others, but you won’t get much more that a ‘wish him well, let’s look to the future’ from any of them.

It doesn’t hurt anyone to be respectful of your current and former colleagues.

No-one is being disrespectful, but players are always naturally guarded in their comments. There are a few referencing winning the league, but it’s never going to be as effusive as that.

@Mascot I meant it the other way. That no matter what Isak is feeling he kept it under wraps and was respectful in public.

Thing is they are at the world cup… for some it might be their only one.

Anyone who doubts his quality simply never watched him at Newcastle.

If he gets played correctly he could challenge Haaland for the golden boot. Needs to be fit, needs to play in a system that get the best out of him.

I think this wasted season has completely skewed people’s perception of the talent at this club. Maybe they overspent last summer, let go of the wrong players, and did too much too quick, but no one has seen the new signings anywhere near their best. Not to mention quality players suddenly regressing after winning the league. I think they will be surprising a few people next season.

I remember one of the guys at the athletic gushing in excitement when Newcastle bought him saying that should not be possible for a man of that size to be able to move as quickly and nimbly as he can. The guy we saw for us this season was unrecognizable from the player we bought. There is so much more to come for him
