Alexander ISAK: 2025/26

Great finish - that’s why we signed him.

If he’s out for more than six week we shouldn’t count on him to be a big factor for the rest of the season.

I’m really concerned that Isak might turn into one of the biggest flops in the history of this sport.

Feel that buying even someone like Gordon might have actually make more sense than buying Isak, since a proper Diaz replacement should have been a speedy winger rather than a goal poacher (I don’t remember Semenyo being on our radar last year or last summer).

At the beginning of the season, the management’s explanation was to give Rio more opportunities, which actually makes sense to a certain degree. But ever since the Newcastle match Slot did not bother to play the boy at all.

I think the plan was to get him minutes, but the season has turned into a succession of games you really wouldn’t throw a kid into.

Rio is nowhere near ready.

I think in a side that is purring and winning games of football comfortably, he would be ready. But I don’t think we can expect him to be ready for this kind of football, amongst senior players looking mentally fragile.

I walked off with mine, then I had to fucking drive myself home.

That was a shit day.

Pearce has already said its lower leg not ACL

I’ll be patient with any prognosis before we hear what happened and how long. Like it turned out with Szobo this week. Alisson said he thinks he’ll be fine. Hopefully not something serious.

Gordon also proved at Newcastle that he can play in more than one position/role. Whether someone likes him or not, if he was here, I’d say there’s a good chance he’d be a starter on the left side.

Some physio’s speculations!

It looked bad to me. However I’ll wait for official confirmation. Nasty late tackle that deserved a red.

The reports are all referencing needing to wait for MRI results which by itself puts the focus on the joint (ligaments) rather than the bone so the speculation is perfectly consistent with that.

I can only imagine what was going on in referees’ heads.

“Oi, that’s a leg breaker!”
“Yeah but he’s just scored, mate.”
“Oh, right, I better restart the play then.”

It’s going be long I think, thankfully not an ACL as he could do with a full summer to get ready.

Poor lad… my doubts about his patchy fitness record are well-known, but here, he’s just victim of a nasty attack which definitely warranted a red card.

Hopefully he’ll soon be on a football pitch again, fingers crossed!:crossed_fingers:
