Since it’s been the whole year since he’s arrived, I’m yet to see anything that suggests he will justify at least a part of his unreasonable price tag. I felt uneasy about it back then (mostly because we were buying a player who had to go on a strike to force his move - and that happened on a deadline day, no less, if I remember correctly) and I only feel worse now.
The worst thing about this, though, is that I look at him and remember that Hughes is off to Saudi Arabia, and I now harbour a faint hope he will take Isak off Liverpool’s hands, so the club can cut their losses and move on with Ekitike and another centre forward who is more involved in the game than him and scores more than him - that’s how desperate and pessimistic I am about the rest of his Liverpool career.

How am I to convince you otherwise? He simply hasn’t played enough to pass judgment one way or the other. Newcastle and Forest were the first games he played the full 90 minutes in a Liverpool shirt.
You felt off about him from the beginning because he cost a record amount of money and he went on a strike. That’s fine, you are entitled to feel however you want, but it has nothing to do with his actual footballing ability, and it won’t determine if he’s going to make it at LFC.
Shite goalkeeping for his first but he hit it very well. Wasn´t a good chance or angle to score from.
Second goal was brilliant. Very slick and composed. The Isak we signed. Just seen it again. Had a lot to do when he got the ball but that was absolutely world class.
After the first goal, I wrote in my mates’ Viber group that I hadn’t known what surprised me more, the assist or the goal. Then I repeated the same message minutes later. Thankfully, the lads reverted to mean in the second half, otherwise world would have probably ended tonight!
