[quoteEvidently, Newcastle wants to try convince Isak to stay but has no idea that Isak’s head has been turned massively. Next season where they hit the final 2 year mark without a league title or a UCL title lol, I don’t think they can get 120m gbp in any universe where all the big boys are largely stocked at CF…

Except Arsenal. Maybe Newcastle would take Gyokeres in part-ex.
I wonder how Isak actually feels during this entire saga? There is a big chance that Newcastle might just let him run down his current contract if he doesn’t signs a new one.
By then, he will be about 28 years old. Not too old but not too young either.
His mistake in his professional career was to actually sign a 6 years contract with Newcastle, a team that is bankrolled by the gulf countries but curtailed severely by PSR. If he signed 4 years contract back then, he would be able to maximise his earning potential and medal potential to its fullest.
Thanks to a greedy agent in Universal Twenty Two, that potential got cut short massively.
If Isak wants to leave, he can agitate for it and I’m sure Newcastle would consider selling for a big fee to avoid having a disgruntled player.
But I’ll truly respect it if he decides to honor his contract (even if only for the time being). Many players in his position have had their eyes turned by other clubs making their interest known. It would be refreshing to see him say “nope, I signed a contract, I have three years left, and I’m happy here.”
But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be happy if he decided to come here.
