Alexander Isak (CF) Newcastle

The reason might be Jackson thinking “If I do really well and a big club come in for me, you fuckers won’t let me go”.

Just saying…
We could get Origi on a free for a couple of seasons :person_shrugging:

Clearlake owns most of Chelsea. PIF own Newcastle and have invested heavily into Clearlake. There’s a very simple loan deal to be done there that would suit a lot of parties.

PIF is not a single entity but a large group with lots of divisions. The part of PIF that has invested in clearlake have done so to get a return on their investment and will be judged independently of performance of other areas of the company. They have zero interest in helping out Newcastle and I imagine it would likely be illegal for the investment part of Clearlake do anything unrelated to getting returns on their investment such that it was helping out Chelsea or other entities that people who have money in clearlake are also invested in.

Its a connection that I get why people make, but just isnt really there.

If his agents are worth their commissions, they should be wrangling NUFC’s hand to agree to a reasonable release clause of about maybe 90m -110m gbps that gives everyone a chance to get what they want.

A club that can either pay the full release clause or can pay slightly more than the release clause in return for instalments would be a God-send or in the geordie terms, Allah-send for NUFC’s PSR position.

However, knowing that Howe’s nephew is running the show, I have dim hopes of NUFC agreeing to that release clause just because that clown thinks he can run a bloody auction lol…

It did cross my mind whether Chelsea would be open to Nicholas going out on loan, (or other players such as Hoiland at Utd for example). Makes sense for Newcastle to consider options like that if they don’t fully trust the player as a long term replacement. Also probably makes sense for Chelsea if they can’t sell him this window.

reluctance to include release clauses is probably more to do with controlling the timing of the sale rather than worrying about whether you miss out on potential higher fee when selling.

Looks like Nicolas Jackson will sign for Bayern on loan.

Yes, we will probably see lots of movement over the remainder of this week.

Feel like this is not happening, then we’ve wasted the whole summer after this crap only to leave ourselves short. Also that Diaz sale is going to look really bad without a replacement, however you might want to spin it (age, he wanted to go etc.). One week to go.

There isn’t a player in the land who isn’t going to demand an iron clad release clause in any contract with Newcastle. That’s the damage they have done to themselves this summer.

Liverpool don’t do release clauses, and we don’t need to, because we’re basically sound. Reputation matters a lot in these things.

Jackson off to Munich demonstrates how pointless pumping a new bid in is, they evidently are being cheap trying to bring players in and they’ve been rejected left, right and centre.

If one of their demands is they sign someone before they sanction any move putting whatever bid it is not satisfy that.

It wouldn’t be a Liverpool season if we didn’t leave ourselves short somewhere.

There is a lot of chat around this being Kane’s last year in Germany. You can see the attraction of a still young player taking the opportunity to stake a case now to be his replacement next year at a club like Bayern even if it comes with an expectation of not being a regular this year.

Without the Isak stuff it is maybe less attractive than Newcastle purely because of the money that comes with playing in the Prem. But with the Isak stuff? You can see someone picking being Kane’s back up

Except Chelsea need cash this summer to comply with UEFA.

I’ll forgive the club if we’re one short up front until January. We can’t account for the loss of Jota.

I’ll be less forgiving if we don’t sign a quality CB (Guehi being a good option AND attainable).

Yeah, but Chelsea need cash every summer to comply with one governing body or another

Apparently, NUFC’s owners don’t think so just to appear tough lol…What a bunch of clowns running the show at NUFC..

I wouldn’t be surprised that the new recruits at Al-sandcastle all have release clauses…

I’m inclined to trust them either way. But I think that Guehi is all-but nailed on. I can’t imagine that they’ll go into September with Virgil, the oft-injured, and an 18 year old.

In general, I am a fan of the strategy of only chasing players you’re convinced about instead of the scattershot approach you see with other clubs. I don’t want them to pivot to Barcola or Fofana just to add depth. I only want them to add players they’re convinced will fit here. That approach has served them very well over the last decade.
