Craig Hope has been a bit of a twat, but you always sensed he was just toeing the PIF line and he never, from I recall, said that there was no chance of this getting done.
Luke Edwards must feel absolutely humiliated, though. He insisted time and time again that PIF wouldn’t sell, then that PIF wouldn’t sell without a 150M fee and bringing in the right two strikers, then that PIF wouldn’t sell unless they got 150M and two strikers, then that PIF wouldn’t sell unless they got 150M, etc etc. He openly mocked anyone who doubted it.
A perfect example of someone who got too close to his source and got made to look like a fool.
