Sesko knowing he will be first choice at Sandcastle, due to them having no other forwards :0)
Craig barely coping must be loving life.
They tried apparently
At least he’s keeping it professional, unlike that Edwards weirdo from the Telegraph
This might support the rheory of Newcastle having two pisitions within their camp…Howe willing to make a deal and the owner refusing to?
It sounds like it. Howe probably views this as a Coutinho situation: sell one top player and buy two. I’m not sure what the owners are up to. It sounds like they solicited a bid so that they could make a big show of turning it down. Acting Billy-Big-Bollocks or something?
Its the same situation we had with Bad back Countinho Owners said keep him Klopp said its best him moving on.
Haha, this means Newcastle will absolutely fleece Liverpool for Isak! That said, fitness permitting for both of them, I think both transfers should be successes for both players and their respective new clubs.
Newcastle fans probably believe it’s a brilliant plan to make Liverpool panic and we’ll buy Sesko instead.
It’s in their interest to let the deal with quickly.
Maybe they can be made to bid 40m on Elliot and we get Isak for 120m.
I know the shambles that is Newcastle’s recruitment has become a bit of a trope, but I really cannot understand why they aren’t all over Elliott.
He is young, 2 x PL winner, champions league experience, over 100 games under his belt, and has shown he can cut it at this level. He’d be brilliant for them.
And with the situation around Isak, you’d think they’d be able to get a good deal out of Liverpool.
Who is he going to knock from their starting 11 to encourage either them to buy him or him to go there?
I was actually thinking the same. I think Elliot would thrive under Howe
Think he’ll be an upgrade over Willock. Newcastle’s first choice midfield is Tonali, Guimares and Joelinton. Any of the three getting ruled out with an injury means Elliot potentially sees a lot of minutes there. He’ll be further down the pecking order with us.
Not to mention the age difference. Elliot is 21. Joelinton is 28, Willock is 28 years as well. That’s one player that can be a huge part of that club for some years. And is a 2 time PL winner.
And can potentially play on the wings too if needed for an emergency. Elliot ticks a lot of buttons for Newcastle.
If we are selling Elliot to SandCastle we shouldn’t be paying (net) more than 80m for Isak.
You mean overall?
Isak and Elliott would have to be separate, unrelated deals. Not in the interests of either club to do a swap.
of course!
At this point , If we can keep Elliot in the team, There should be a way to give him enough minutes. But he’s probably the third choice #10 for us. Wirtz/Dom get in probably ahead of him. Macca fits everywhere in the team. Jones can play in both the deeper and advanced roles.
We’ve got options on the right wing as a backup for Salah. There’s a more definite pathway for Elliot to Newcastle. But we should be getting a good price out for him which hopefully in tandem with Nunez going out should be getting us Isak and a CB
