Well if we sign him, we don’t want him showing up to the medical with food poisoning.
We sign him, He does the grilling mock celebration when he scores against Newcastle in St James Park.
Judging by Howe’s transfer attempts and CL performances I’d say it’ll be undercooked or charred beyond recognition.
Alex dodged a bullet there!
Been seeing tentative reports for Goncalo Ramos for Newcastle. I think that’s a good signing. Someone they can get without getting into a bidding war.
But the point remains as to whether sandcastle can offer the salary that Ramos probably demands.
I like mine medium-well.
Not burnt , and not undercooked.
Isak might well have rejected that for those reasons and the club PR went ahead and kept their own spin.
Also at risk of the uber sensitive newly entitled Newcastle fanbase going into a further meltdown.
Liverpool should keep a lowball offer for Ramos. I do think he does tick a lot of what we need for the second CF option. He’s further down the line in PSG. Will be cheaper and probably is more similar to Jota in his playing style too.
And then force them to come to the table w.r.t Isak.
We probably wanted Ekitike anyway.
They are still stuck in the position which seems to effect them a lot.
Where do you want to live Paris or Newcastle.
It has affected us too to be honest, with the usual alternative being London.
Nowadays our project is so exciting that the geographical disadvantage is outweighed.
Remember alexis Sanchez choosing arsenal over us because he wanted to stay in London.
Would have maintained that he would have been an immense signing for us at that time.
But right now , Liverpool club is a final destination.
The doubts on whether we would move on from Klopp have totally vanished. Especially when Slot won the league with Klopp’s team.
We are one of the most exciting teams in world football right now. And that goes without the taint of oil money. Huge fucking fanbase plays a part too
Most football clubs tend to have quiet suburbs where players can live (e.g. Formby for us, Cheshire for Manchester players).
I’m assuming that the Newcastle players have somewhere quiet and nice that their players can go. (although when I lived there in the early 90s I had a couple that lived near to me. I was occasionally mistaken for Pavel Srníček, which gets rather annoying when are blamed in the street for someone else’s shite performances.)
I think it’s the idea of a major metropolis attracting the in-crowd that appeals to some. But I’d be worried if someone would put partying at the top of their priorities when choosing where to be a professional sportsperson.
The close proximity to Manchester helps too.
Darras Hall near Ponteland in Northumberland according to Google
Its not just partying its general lifestyle Newcastle is a great place but its not got the appeal of London and Manchester. Leeds is a more vibrant City than Newcastle but they still get overshadowed.
Pretty sure these guys earn enough to host their own parties in their own backyard which can put any nightlife to shame.
As long as they don’t do a partey , its all fine.
Newcastle is also quite isolated. The nearest major metropolises to it are Leeds and Edinburgh. The firm I worked for there did struggle to recruit from outside the area and they certainly didn’t pay footballer wages!
Most of our footballers live in Cheshire which seems to be a place inbetween Manchester and Liverpool.
Quite a lot of Manchester based footballers live there too.
Assume Newcastle is too far up to have a suitable community like that.
Adderley Edge is the area.
