Same as Ap in Wales. You dont see it in its raw form anymore, but it is where surnames like Parry (ap Harry), Upjohn (ap John), Powell (ap Hwyel), Pritchard (Ap Richard), and Bowen (Ap, Owen) came from.
Maybe the priest just had a stutter when he baptised him…

I found paddy’s day in Boston is exactly the same as paddy’s day in Dublin.A shit load of kids locked in the middle of the day and a rake load of tourists wearing a fair amount of green.
That’s just a normal day in Belfast
Off topic but the Madjeski stadium used to have a pretty nuts paddy day when London Irish played there.
It’s odd in Valencia, aside from the English, Americans and a few Germans, the one Irish pub that was left (now closed) had zero Spanish in on Paddy’s Day. Says something about the place that it has no Irish bars now.
Yeah, true that. They sell it all to us! Half my body must be made of Amstel by now.
I would say the Valencian province is one of the more authentic of the Spanish regions. Very traditional, and and have somehow managed to keep the English plague out unlike most other Spanish regions.
Superb city, love it.
Ugh…dreadful stuff
Even better when it’s warm
