Alisson BECKER: 2020/21

Oh no, what a tragedy. Poor Alisson. He must be so distraught, not being able to go to see his family.
Deepest condolences to Allison and his whole family.:palms_up_together: YNWA.
RIP Papa Becker.

It seems glib at a time like this to say the club appears cursed right now but that’s how it seems.

RIP Jose Becker.

Some of the problems this team have faced this season have gone well beyond football, to the point where football becomes irrelevant. RIP Mr Becker.

Our best season in 30 years, immediately followed by the toughest since 1989. Goethe would have torn up his first Faust manuscript for being implausibly cruel.

Ay, ay. This is so sad. I hope the poor lad finds a way home.

RIP, José, & YNWA.

So sad to hear this. RIP Jose Becker.

Condolences to Alisson too. He will draw strength from his faith, but of course this is horrible news to bear, compounded by likely travel restrictions in place, so the togetherness you experience in grief, when you are with your wider family, will be missing. Maybe there might be a special bonding moment between manager and player, as both have experienced this.

We have a good group of players, and they will all rally round.

As for whether, and how long, Alisson is out… different people need different things. He may need to get between the sticks ASAP and play through his grief. Or he may need time away. However that pans out, he has our full support.

rip that is horrible news.

one of my cousins died in a drowning accident years back, its takes you a long while to get over as it comes as such a shock.

if there is a chance he can go back to brazil I hope we let him even if it means him quarantining for two weeks on the way back.

Wow first Klopps Mum and now Ali’s dad. And being unable to attend the respective funerals is heartbreaking. Tough season just got tougher.

Dodgy VAR calls, injuries and some gk howlers all of a sudden not as important. I’m sure the club and team will provide much support.

Heard he can’t travel home so will stay playing with us for another 3 weeks until he has time to head back. His wife is 28 weeks pregnant and he would have to quarantine in a hotel for 10 days upon landing so it would be unfeasible at the minute

Has he been fined already because he refused to play tonight? :man_facepalming:t4:
