Nah, the £8m price tag was fair for him at the time - maybe they could have pushed it to what, £15m? Imagine the outrage if we’d paid that much then!
Klopp/the club just saw his potential and took the shot, and it worked a blinder.

it’s context. he’s not a flashy/flair player like some of the other FB you see in the PL or La Liga/Serie A. No nonsense grinder who will run all day long. his skillset compliments our style of play. I don’t know if he would have found success at a place like Chelsea where M. Alonso is more of an attacking FB who gets into the box far more often.
I wouldn’t rate Robbo as a world beater, but I believe he’s pretty close to the best that we could have gotten for how we play. I hope he’s here for a long time to come
He’s the 2nd best fullback in the world…
who’s the best?
The Greek Scouser!
Has to be Trent surely?
Trent!
Dossena, must be him
Your all wrong.
It can only be the great Djimi Traore
Dossena, must be him
Wouldn’t mind bringing him on once we are 3-0 up to score those fourth goals in the big games.
I was at that game and the atmosphere in the second half was wild. One of the most intense I can remember at Anfield. It peaked when Robbo went on that run. That is what pure adrenaline looks like.
Legend has it that when he jogged back over JK bollocked him for abandoning his post which, if true, was a bit harsh. 30 seconds later the ‘Andy, Andy’ chant went up for the first time and we knew we had a new hero. A magic moment.
I always wonder about coverage back then, I’m sure it looked better than watching it through someone’s 90s webcam
He didn’t look 100% fit last night. A bit worried him going to NT games.
Yeah, I thought the same. I understand why Klopp maybe didn’t trust Tsimikas enough for such a game but Robertson looked well off the pace last night, as did Mane. Bar admittedly a key moment where Mane forced a handball clearance from James, left flank did absolutely nothing for Liverpool’s cause last night. It was as though they never played a match together.
Was interesting to see Hendo used for probably the first time under Klopp as the LCM. Didn’t like it to be honest, although it’s only one game. Maybe Klopp wanted someone “Giniesque” there. I think our focus was more on the right side anyway, which isn’t an excuse for the opposite side’s performance of course.
This was insane!
I can imagine klopp bollocking him but also fucking loving it at the same
Time
Should be no where near the staring 11, his inclusion is an absolute mind fuck considering what Tsimikas has contributed thus far.
Needs benching.
He’s been below his best for a while, I think it’s a fitness thing. Klopp needs to be careful not to run him into the ground after all the football he played in last three years, especially with Tsimikas showing decent form. That said, I’m not sure that Tsimikas should start against the likes of Man City, I think Klopp will stick with Robertson regardless of his form.
Give him a week to regain focus and fitness. Bench him against Porto.
