Andy ROBERTSON: 2023/24

That 11-year-old bears a vague resemblance to Robbo.

Whoever it is, he looks cute in his dad’s shirt.

I’m very happy to have him back but return to form, it seems, will be as difficult as return to fitness. That game against Sparta was probably his worst in a long time, perhaps even the worst I’ve seen him play in a Liverpool shirt. I hope it’s just the case of rustiness and not the sign of a decline because he’s not even that old - but he’s been run into the ground by both club and country.

Didn’t expect him to play the full game last night, but maybe he needs more rhythm (plus, we needed to manage other subs). It’s the first time he’s coming back from a longer break. I still trust him.

Can’t see him starting against City after playing 90 mins in Prague.
Maybe Klopp Sees a fully fit Tsimikas as a better option right now.
Looking forward to seeing the return of the marauding Robbo of old.

He’s been back for a while now, well over a month in a span covering a lot of game, but I think that’s only the second time he’s played the full game.

Honestly wouldn’t read too much into last nights performance, the entire team defensively was a bit off it in the first half. He was also up against two rapid lads on his side which can make any defender look daft at times, that right back in particular looked like he’d run Usain Bolt close over 100m.

For some reason, I had a feeling he’d get injured again. I know that Scotland need players of his stature but surely they don’t have to play him in every minute of every friendly? Now they’ll likely have to rely on an out of form player coming off an injury-ridden season.

We need to get stronger and pull players out of these internationals like Arsenal and City are doing or what Man Utd used to do.

Technically you have no choice to do so.

I assume Uruguay may have taken our word for it and evidently Salah must have said something regarding Egypt.

The former could have asked for Nunez to travel regardless that’s the issue here. But thankfully they didn’t. To be honest it’s not the worst place to lose a player

Oh no… there’s our strength in depth gone. :see_no_evil:

Any idea how long he will be out?

As always, journos are saying that he’ll have a scan to determine the extent of that injury. In any case, I hope that Trent, Tsimikas, Gomez and Bradley can return and stay injury-free, that would be enough to cover for Robertson. Still, he was evidently rusty after coming back from his shoulder injury, this injury will set him back even further. I just hope it’s not a bad one like ligament damage or something.

Yeah, fingers crossed!

Robbo not serious apparently. Days rather than weeks.

Love this guy.

Far from the most talented or rounded player, but dear me he will go down as one of the most consistent players we ever had.

Of course he had lower quality games at times (not a lot though), but the way he keeps going, follows each action right to the end is admirable.

Can always count on him, even when we have difficult days as a team. His character in tough moments on the pitch is phenomenal.

One of the few today who looked like they cared. Fucking monster of a player.

Heard a story today from a mate who lives opposite where Andy used to live in Formby. They are now neighbours of Sir Alex in Wilmslow. Mate asked him why he was moving and he said his wife didn’t want the kids getting scouse accents :rofl:
