Anfield and Kirkby

Did someone change the title of the owners thread?

No I did! And that wasnā€™t directed at you, more so at some of our fan base that still think FSG isnā€™t a good thing for us

Oh wellā€¦ and I thought that posting something about growing our own vegetables and lettuces now would be good news.

It is, it really is. We are just a bit cranky until Mikey rakes in Ā£100 million.

Ā£100 million? Are his toms that good?

I just canā€™t see any disbenifits to the rail seating. Been on the Sir Kenny a few times over the years and ended up in the row in front. Not had the pleasure of being on the Kop. The old main stand seats werenā€™t great for it either, but the new main seating is better, with more space in front of each seat. Will be interesting to see how the trial goes.

Win win for me.

I donā€™t get the opposition.

Itā€™s rail seating not safe standing.

Even if it was safe standing then people need to realise that itā€™s NOT terracing

I donā€™t think thereā€™s a lot of opposition to be fair.
There will always be some sceptics and at this club of all clubs when it comes to stadium safety thatā€™s understandable.
The vast majority seem in favour of this though.

The only disadvantage (seen from a Sports Ground Safety perspective) is that it might be seen as condoning standing, thereby encouraging more people to stand for longer during the game.

In my opinion it is a pragmatic step, recognising that people do stand, and that standing is not safe with existing stadium seating.

Stewards just need to do their jobs then to make sure there isnā€™t persistent standing.

Does this happen?

Itā€™s a common sense move. I try to avoid the Kop as I donā€™t like standing. I was in there the last time we played City with fans in the ground and people were falling over the seats in front when the goals went in. All good fun until somebody breaks a leg.

Itā€™s not about encouraging standing. Itā€™s recognising that in some parts of the ground people do stand (whether they want to or not) and they need to be able to do so safely.

Seems the new digital ticket entry hit a bit of a snag today

Was anybody at the game last night? What was the issue with the turnstiles

I wasnā€™t at the game but Iā€™ve been looking at the ticket thread on RAWK as Iā€™ll be using this system soon. Looks like it was simply a case of the scanners not always recognising the NFC passes or QR codes. The club has apologised but itā€™s not a great start. Donā€™t really want to be arriving 3 hours before kick-off just so I can get in on time.

Editā€¦Turns out the ticket issue was probably because people hadnā€™t downloaded their tickets to their phone or printed them. Rather than it actually being a technical error.

Anybody had a go of the new rail seats yet?

Spaces are selling fast, with fewer than 1,000 spots remaining.

I would have preferred if this wasnā€™t a money-spinner. I think fans/season ticket holders, former players, staffs should have taken/rotated place on the wall.
